Hello everyone!
I've got some good news and some bad news.
Bad news first.
The schedule I posted for AGP is going to slim down significantly. I still don't know yet where it will settle, but releases will be rather fewer, and pushed back from the beginning of the year. Also, rather than bring out WoHA right away, I will be releasing products for WoHF first. This, because with WoHA I want to be able to support it regularly, as in one to two products a month regularly, and right now I can't see that happening. Also, it seems there are a fair number of folks who would prefer WoHF to WoHA right now, so going forward with WoHF makes more sense. More on what the new schedule looks like down the road.
The good news is the reason why things are going to be delayed. During the day, I'm an editor on Comics & Games Retailer, Comics Buyer's Guide, and Scrye magazines at F+W Publications. We just acquired GamingReport.com (www.gamingreport.com), and I've been appointed the editor of the site. This, on top of everything else I was already doing... so yeah, that means I have a lot less free time. Again. Which is why the AGP schedule is being moved back and trimmed.
I will know better what I can do with the AGP schedule once I know just how much time the new portion of my day job will take. This might take a month or two, as we go forward with the site and get settled in.
Here's the announcement:
SCRYE Magazine Acquires GamingReport.com
Leading Web site of the hobby gaming industry to join F+W Publications
CINCINNATINovember 15, 2006F+W Publications, Inc., publisher of leading adventure games magazine Scrye and adventure games industry trade magazine Comics & Games Retailer, today announced the acquisition of GamingReport.com, the leading Web site for news and reviews for the hobby gaming industry.
Since its creation in 1999 by Dan Sivils, GamingReport.com has provided hundreds of thousands of readers worldwide with news and reviews about role-playing games, collectible card games, and board games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and Settlers of Catan. The GamingReport.com Web site is consulted numerous times daily by thousands of hobbyists and industry professionals alike. GamingReport.com will continue to operate under that name, complementing Scrye and Comics & Games Retailer.
"We are very excited to expand our offerings online with the addition of the top site for gamers," said Jeff Pozorski, Publisher, Scrye. "By teaming the resources of the leading adventure games Web site and the leading magazines for gamers, we expect to greatly expand the services of all to the hobby."
"GamingReport.com has become the source for breaking news and information on the hobby game industry, making the search for a new home that would continue this effort difficult. F+W's focus, enthusiasm, and proven ability make them the best choice to continue my efforts," said Dan Sivils, founder and former editor of GamingReport.com. "I am confident that F+W will take GamingReport.com to the next level while staying true to my original goal of keeping readers informed on game industry news and events in the best way possible."
The acquisition coincides with the seventh anniversary of acquisition of Scrye magazine by Krause Publications, an imprint of F+W, in 1999. Since that time, through the efforts of an editorial staff of veteran gamers including Joyce Greenholdt and James Mishler, the magazine's frequency has gone from quarterly to monthly and has spun off books and other publications about games. Weve greatly admired what Dan built in GamingReport.com, said John Jackson Miller, editorial director of interactive media for F+W. "Well work to continue that reporting tradition, while at the same time providing many additional useful resources to its readers.
I invite y'all to come over and hang out at my new digs.

I'll probably be able to post a sample of the cover art and design for James' first release by the end of the month. ^_^

And that is some sweet, sweet art, I tell ya! I couldn't be more pleased if I had Elmore or Caldwell working on my covers.

Congrats JM! I would be lying if I were to say I wasn't a bit dissappointed though. So much enthusiasm a few months ago for WoHA...

Eh. It'll all still get out. It's just going to be a longer bit of time. Such is the wonderful world of the publishing industry.

So, what exactly is the difference between WoHF and WoHA? Enquiring minds want to know!
Thanks.
WoHF is material written from the JG material presented by Necromancer games.
WOHA is JG material written from James' own campaign setting and including his own 'house' material.
