Special Edition PHB and M&T

Hello,

I just ran across copies of the C&C PHB and M&T at a local game store. They are hardcover brown with gold artwork on the front. I think they are special edition. Can anyone tell me which printing they might be? Also, is there anything "special" about the content or is it just the cover that is different. Thanks!

I have copies of those (kept hoping that they'd come out with a CKG with that binding as well so I'd have a matching set eventually). I think they are the second printing??? (it's second or third), and the only real difference is the cover...I think the paper may be a bit nicer too, but it may just be that particular print run for all the books.

The special Leatherette versions of the books are as follows:
PHB = printing 2.5
M&T = printing 1.5

They are in between the printings when those books were released. There is some fixes in there, but not as substantial as the following printings.

+1 on getting the CKG done in Red Leather with Gold (along with Monsters & Treasure of Ahirde, Of Gods & Monsters and Classic Monsters)

And a Special Leather Edition Slipcase for all those!

But at the very least a Red Leatehr CKG.

I would like to see these redone as well. Not sure what color though. I like the idea of red and gold or the green and gold too. Black and gold would be cool too. Regardless, it would be cool to get the Complete set like this, with a leatherette slipcase to match. I am not sure the special editions will happen again though, at least not for a long time. You can find them at trollandtoad.com pretty cheap right now. I have been thinking of snagging another one or two.
