Questions about healing and disengagement

Post by tylermo »

We're in the middle of the A0 Rising Knight. First question. A player was reduced to -3 hp, he has been raised to 0 now. Can magical healing bring him up(such as lay on hands, cure light potion)after the 1d6 hours of unconsciousness?

Another player made a fighting disengagment. Hasty disengagement says opponents get free attacks, but do they get that option with "fighting dis" as well? Thanks.

Don't have book in front of me to give quote but, yes magical healing bypasses wait times strictures that natural healing has.

Hi tylermo:
1) Yes, I think that magical healing would definetely help to quickly bring back the character from the brink of unconsciousness.
2) No, if a PC, or a monster, use the fighting disengagement maneuver I usually don't allow a free attack against, but he/she/it must find a way to get free from their enemies, who can choose if they want to follow him/her/it and keep on fighting or not.
Hope that helps, have a nice day,
G. ;)

Once a character has been brought up to zero HP, magical healing works normally from that point forward. If the player was a -3 HP and has a healing spell cast on him that restored 10 HP, the recipient would only be brought back to zero HP. From that point on, all healing works as normal.

With a "Hasty Disengagement" the PC can be attacked as he withdraws. A "Fighting Disengagement" prevents these free attacks but only allows the PC to move 1/2 of his move distance.
