Having only had a chance to flip through it so far, and not read it in any great detail, I can't comment too much. But, I'm seeing a blend a of OD&D (mechanics), Traveller (concepts), and EvE Online (storyline). Not perfect interpretations or blatant rip-offs, but just the necessary flavorings to pull together a nice-looking and easy-to-play SF RPG.

In short, what I'm seeing so far I really like. I'll have to go cover-to-cover and, of course, convince my gaming group to have an "off night" from our regular campaign and give it a try. Looks very compelling and it's clear Mr. Crawford has put a lot of work into it.

If you don't need all of the additional material and want to run a lighter game, there is X-Plorers too.
