Finally C&C!!
Finally C&C!!
Ok, those that know me here know that C&C was a hard sell to my main gaming group. This group, consisting of best friends from high school, have been my core group off and on for twenty years. Gurps, Warhammer, and Battletech, and sometimes 3.5, but no one ever wanted to try C&C. Over the years I have frequented these boards and ran games at cons, my main group still wouldn't budge. I had to get a secondary group who loved C&C to even run an occasional game, and started my teen son and his group.
But finally! My main group, after years of me pushing it, gave up and let me run a game. And they loved it. No matter how many times I tried to explain the Seige engine in the past, they heard "blah blah blah...DnD". But now they get it...and think the simple but sophisticated Seige mechanic is genius.
I was just running a con module with pregens of high level (Duplicity of Devils for those that played it at GenCon) and they had such a good time, they demanded that we start a whole campaign beginning at 1st level! Man I am geeked!

Re: Finally C&C!!
I hear you. I eventually won people over to Savage Worlds, and I'm doing it now with C&C. Mind you, most of my C&C group are younger and play a little pathfinder and Magic. They don't have as many preconceived notions. I've got one friend(outside of the group)who seeks the nostalgia and fun of 80's basic and AD&D. He thinks C&C is sort of close. He wasn't pleased with 4E, and I think he'd play C&C over 3.5 and PF maybe. He's really looking forward to 5th,and admits that the game pretty much has to be D&D in name for him. On the meantime, he's playing downloaded Moldvay basic. The stuff WOTC can't offer on PDF because they're worried about piracy. Lol

Nice job Piper! Persistance pays off. You don't have to beat them over the head with your RPG choices, but being consistant and letting others simply observe your love of the game wins converts. Now you know this better than most. Enjoy the victory.

WTF? A Patriots fan at a soccer game? Maybe they got confused when asked if he wanted to go see a football game.

Awesome news, Eric! Hope that doesn't mean you're not going to run C&C at the cons anymore...

That's Larissa Riquelme, a Paraguayan model and actress, who promised to run naked through Asunción if Paraguay won the World Cup (for football; the real football that is, not that odd American rugby thingSir Ironside wrote:WTF? Pics or it didn't happen.dachda wrote:That's Larissa Riquelme, a Paraguayan model and actress, who promised to run naked through Asunción if Paraguay won the World Cup (for football; the real football that is, not that odd American rugby thingSir Ironside wrote:WTF? Alas, Paraquay lost against Spain, BUT Larissa decided to make the run anyway!

Ahmm. Pics of her tend to be a bit nude. Best you just do a search on her name yourself. Preferable in the privacy of your own home!Frost wrote:Pics or it didn't happen.dachda wrote:That's Larissa Riquelme, a Paraguayan model and actress, who promised to run naked through Asunción if Paraguay won the World Cup (for football; the real football that is, not that odd American rugby thingSir Ironside wrote:WTF?
