Rogue Mage

Post by gideon_thorne »

Hey folks. Just thought I'd put the word out. I'm actually doing a goodly chunk of the art for this Rogue Mage game. If you're a fan of the novels, or know anyone who might be inclined to support this effort, could you pass it along?

I've looked at it a few times... and part of me really wants to.

First of all, I know next to nothing of Rogue Mage... I have not read any of the books but conceptually, it sounds like something I might like.

Secondly, I like supporting people I know ... I like Christina's work as well as Peter's artwork.

However, that $15 dollar international shipping fee (not that I'm saying it isn't fair) when I'm looking at the $55 pledge seems a bit cost prohibitive for me. Basically, it ends up being $70 for two softcover books. Or, judging by other offers, it ends up being $100 for two hardcover books. At $100, it looks to be a nicer deal IMO since they are also signed.

I was initially looking at the $150 pledge since I haven't read the novels but with an additional $46 shipping? OW!

At this point, I may be forced to stick with the PDF offerings... which would be a shame but if I could manage it, I would probably try for the $100 pledge depending how my own finances look over the next couple of weeks. I do sincerely hope it reaches it's goal though, and then some!

Pat, you're in Canada, right? Let me check with my guy to see if it'd really cost that much to ship to Canada. If you go in for the $150 package, I'll pay for your shipping myself!!!!

Hi Christina! I am indeed in Canada and I realize that, even as neighbors, shipping to and from Canada can be costly. I know the Trolls have sent me a couple large packages in the past and I think they used the USPS Priority Mail Medium flat rate box which is currently 32.95 to Canada (or Mexico) but $47.95 to elsewhere in the world. Still expensive but a $14 difference none-the-less. Of course, I'm assuming that the books, t-shirt, and novels all fit in there. I don't know the exact dimensions.

That said, I really appreciate the offer and am very tempted by it! I will still have to consider the shape of my finances before committing to any particular tier but I'm likely to take the $150 plunge! Thanks for the push! ;)

I will let you know when I officially pledge.
