Quick rules clarification: The XP value for a magic item stands on its own and is not added to the GP value as well, correct?
That is, when dolling out XP for magic weapons, I need only pay attention to the Experience column, correct?
E.g., a morningstar +1 has an EXP value of 250 XP and not 1250 (1000 GP + 250 XP Value).
Just started pondering this because I give out XP for GP as well.

That's correct. If they sold the magic item they could get the experience based on the price. At least that's how AD&D 1st edition did it.

Yes, as i understand you are correct. I tried to catch what math and calculation hide behind the xp value, but it's too difficult. I don't give xp if the PCs sell magic items, but only if they use them. The reward to selling them is gold, to use the is xp. I think this method is quite by the book, isn't it. (In this way I anticipate some of my smartest players that for sure in the first moment they would get the xp for the items and then they would get the xp for the gold).
Yes in AD&D 1e you get xp for the item and xp for the gold.
