DM's Screen

Post by nightstorm »

So I bought a lot of C&C stuff. Among the treasure was a DM's Screen. It seems to be ok, but it looks like it's from an older edition. If so, what if anything is missing /changed on it? The Screen has Adventurers fighting a Fire/Ice Dragon.

That is THE only other screen from the past few years. Now, TLG has a small, hard-backed chipboard landscape orientated screen. That older, more flimsy screen, still works just fine. I think the only think that may be differrent are the grappling rules and the addition of holy water as a weapon against undead. The rest should all be correct and good for the current printings of the C&C game.

You either have the one from 2006, or the updated 2009 or 2010 screen done for the 4th printing(also done on the flimsier stock). If you have the 2006 screen, the barbarian class abilities won't be in line with the 4th printing barbarian. There may be a couple of monk abilities switched around, as well. I own the 2006 and 2011 portrait screens. If you have the flimsy 2009 version, the class abilities shoukd reflect the 4th printing. I don't confess to knowing the errata or updated info completely. The newer version still has the same(best Peter Bradley)artwork ever, but is now in two separate halves and is made of sturdier chipboard. The old and new versions typically include the adventure, The Golden Familiar. Hope that helps a little. I also thought the flimsier editions were well done, especially the 2009 screen.

Omote, the new version is still portrait-style. The actual landscape screen(a different screen altogether)has new art, and some of the stats are from the ckg. Night Storm, you can check both of them out at the TLG store. I'm still waiting for restock of the new landscape screen. Bear in mind, both share the market together.

Sorry, Omote. I may have misunderstood what you meant at first. :-)

Barbarian abilities and grapple IIRC. Otherwise everything else is fine. Bonus: this is the only place to find the rules for thrown liquids.

Dang right...I think someone said it (was it Omote?) but that needs to be in the 5th printing!
