How long does it take you to level up?

I noticed that leveling up in C&C is no easy task! I do like that approach, working for it...

I'd like to have some feedback from other players though, stories about your class(es) and how long it would take you to level up.

We don't use XP, but goal-driven achievements. So, it takes as long as reaching the goal does, such as 'I want to kill the orc chieftain whose minions raided my village.' Based solely on XP, it would probably, for levels 1-5, take around 60 sessions for us... but we only play 4 hours, half of which is not play, and we very rarely get magical items.

Going pretty much by the book, my fighter character got from 1st to 7th level is about 2 years of pretty regular play (twice per month, 4 hours per session). Our CK wanted to go by the book as much as possible to get the feel for leveling up in the C&C game. There were some other characters in our party that were 5-8th level.

This is similar to the way we play it.

The key for me is to base level advancement to the frequency that we play. If we hardly ever play I tend to level them up faster, but if we play constantly I let the characters stay at the same level for a while. (I know, it sounds backwards somehow. )
