Monsters of the Endless Dark

Post by treant_on_fire »

I tracked down this monster book because it was illustrated by Andy Hopp, but it's really an amazing supplement beyond just the illustrations!

The monsters do a lot of crazy stuff in this book and it's full of awesome fluff. It's from the 'Wanderers Guild' series and you have some great stuff like icons for each monster, telling you if they're carnivorous, herbivores, omnivores, what kind of underground terrain they inhabit, etc.

To repeat myself, these are interesting monsters, very few just hack and slash, they all have really neat tricks that should surprise even veteran players, in my opinion. Plus there's the advantage that the critters you'll find in there are not ones that your players will know so they fully have the surprise element on their side.

It's 3e but not very hard to convert to C&C, imo. With the table of DC to CL and their XP value worked out ahead of time, I think you can use them on the spot.

And it's a steal at $2 over at Troll and Toad.

SERIOUSLY???

I bought mine for more on eBay and I was still more than happy!!! >_<

Well, I suggest everyone makes the most of it, it's truly one of the better monster books I've read in a while.

As a side-note, I've already ordered 'Monsters of the Boundless Blue' but can't find 'Monsters of the Savage Snow' anywhere! :(

Andy Hopp is great. His Low Life setting material for Savage Worlds is unique to say the least. Love his art style.

Yeah-no. The real deal. Troll and Toad doesn't pimp PDFs, just forgotten and neglected treasures. :)

And, while I was buying my Monsters of the Endless Dark, look what else I just happened to find (and buy)!

http://www.trollandtoad.com/p278965.html $4.99 ?!?

http://www.trollandtoad.com/p170417.html $3.99 ?!?

Wow. I never bought those back in the day. Guess some of the things they sell aren't sky high. No offense to T&T, of course.
