Using S&W monsters with C&C...
Any recommended conversion notes I should be aware of if I want to use Swords & Sorcery critters for Castles & Crusades?

Most of the statblock entries stay the same. The listing for Armor Class you use the one in brackets. The missing statblock entries are your call or you could pull them from a newer source. Anything else in the text, like saving throws, spells, and such you can refer to my Companion for the equivalents. The spell chart is still in progress tho.

In that case, the missing statblock entries can be found in the pathfinder SRD http://www.d20pfsrd.com
Although the S&W version is more compatible with C&C, it is missing a lot of the fluff that the Pathfinder version has. It also doesn't have the monster abilities sectioned off. It's all just merged into a paragraph.

I have both versions, on pdf. I haven't used either one, yet, with C&C but I bought the S&W version with the intention of using it with C&C. I think both versions would work well with C&C, and I'm personally leaning towards the S&W version. The PF one is just as good, but there's a lot of extraneous information that I don't particularily need with those entries. I can use my judgement with the missing stuff from the S&W entries, personally.

Well, I'm going to order Crypts & Things soon, which is a variant of S&W, so of course I was thinking the book could be used for both that and C&C... But now I'm also thinking I'll grab Pathfinder soon. So I'm kind of torn. If I had the money, I'd just buy the two versions! >.<Lord Dynel wrote:I have both versions, on pdf.
