It's been ages since I've posted in this forum, though I've been lurking on and off over the last little while. I've managed to do a bit of playing but mostly in a Pathfinder campaign, because people around here are pretty hardcore 3.5 folk (the 4th edition has its followers but Paizo's definitely the name of the game in my town) and well, I'm quite happy to be DMing a C&C game. My new campaign will feature a group of largely new players who frankly might be frightened by the Pathfinder rules- in any case, the less they have to worry about matching arcane feat strings together the more time they'll have to get comfortable with roleplaying. As the DM, of course, my job will be so much easier as I can make monsters and NPCs pretty much on the fly, as is my wont.
That being said, there is one thing about the Pathfinder RPG that is undeniably, absolutely awesome- the house setting, Golarion. Having come into possession of the Inner Sea World Guide, there are literally hundreds of adventure ideas within and the vast majority of the book is without much reference to the crunch of the game, so it can be adapted into a C&C game as is- and even some of the crunch can be adapted without too much difficulty. I'm not actually opposed to the idea, for example, of a prestige class, provided that it is made clear that one is expected to roleplay being recruited into the order, acting as a member of the order, etc, etc.
I've been putting together some of the campaign background at http://paxdiabolica.blogspot.ca and will be moving towards doing some of the house rules and such as I get closer to start date (early June). Those fellow readers that are familiar with my posts in the mists of ancient history will likely be unsurprised that I'm a huge fan of devils ...

Sounds pretty good, man! I agree that Golarion is pretty cool...mainly because it reminds me a little bit of the D&D Known World, with lots of interesting things nixed up so close together. Hopefully your C&C games goes well!

Woot! Glad you were able to get a group together. I've not played more than a single session of Pathfinder, but will have to check out the setting! Because like all good GMs, I steal from everywhere.

Re: Getting to play C&C for the first time in ages
Absolutely! I'm glad to be playing C&C again ... a far, far easier system to manage as the CK than the Pathfinder RPG is.
I'm actually pretty psyched about the Golarion setting, though. Who can resist a place where the goblins spontaneously break out into songs like this?
Goblins chew, and goblins bite!
Goblins cut and goblins fight!
Stab the dog and cut the horse!
Goblins kill and take by force!
Goblins race and goblins jump!
Goblins slash and goblins bump!
Burn the skin and mash the head,
Goblins be here and you be dead!
Chase the baby, catch the pup
Bonk the head to shut it up
Bones be cracked, and flesh be stewed,
We be goblins! You be food!
I have the honour, too, of getting some first-time roleplayers in on the action too.

Used the Golarion setting and Adventure paths for a while with C&C. It was fun.
