It's so horrible it's.....GOOD?!?

Post by Inkpot »

I have a dirty little secret.

When I was 10, I watched this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080846/ and absolutely fell in love with it. Yes, it was the 80's and the movie was so full of cheese it should have been melted down and poured over nachos, but....I still loved it.

Skip ahead about 24 years into the future. I own the movie on VHS (not available on DVD to my knowledge), and I *still* can't help but get a goofy grin when I slap it in the VCR and push 'play'. Rapid-fire crossbows (yeah, I know), robo-talkin' elves, dwarves with whips, giants with warhammers, and....Jack Palance as the big bad!! Combine this with the funky pseudo disco/fantasy soundtrack and you've got yourself a surefire winner!

I...I need help!! *bursts into tears and covers his face*

The hell it isn't. Check it out: Here

I like it too. That movie inspired one of my first characters. The elf with the bow rules all over the place.

The Lake of Fire is a very popular hard core 'adult' club, so I'm told.

That link takes me to the encumbrance thread.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Same here. I just thought something was wrong since I can't see the dang picture in the "Ouch!" thread either.

Serves me right having too many open windows. I fixed it.

My personal fave would be this one:

Hard to believe this is a Peter Jackson flick, compared to his more recent releases

Hahh! We used to watch that one in High School. I think that it was called "Dead Alive" here in the states when it came out. There's one really funny scene where the hero lays waste to a group of zombies with a lawnmower. I remember when LOTR came out and everybody kept yapping about the "breathtaking scope" from this "brilliant mind that is Peter Jackson" (and not that I at all disagree) I kept thinking, "Oh yeah that NZ director who did 'Dead Alive' and 'The Frighteners.'" "Heavenly Creatures" is another good one of his, but for another dose of total PJ cheese just look for "Meet the Feebles."
