Goodman Games gives a shout-out to TLG

Post by dutch206 »

Goodman Games newest release (the Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG) gives a shout-out to the troll lords in two places.

1) In the monsters section is a truly hilarious parody monster called the troll lord.

2) Under reccommended reading, they list the (sadly out-of-print) TLG "Book of Names" as a source for PC names.

IMO this game found the "First editon feel" slider on the control panel and cranked it up to 11. Kind of a "total party kill" factory, but the survivors will really have accomplished something.
Oh, please--I have dice older than you are.

Yeah. Goodman artist, Doug Kovacs, told me something about the inclusion of the "Troll Lord" at GaryCon. Nice to have included a reference to the Book of Names. That said, don't get me started about the whole out of print thing, and how no company (to this day) has been given a go ahead to publish the GFW series again. :P
