A question about the new Codex

Post by doominicus »

When shall the new Codex of Aihrde be released as a pdf copy?
Is this stuff better than After winter dark? (that is: there is a little more detailed material about one region, obviously I am talking of new aenochia)

The original "Codex of Erde" has 2 pages on New Aenochia (called "Outremere" in that book). It's all historical information about the empress, the empire, the crusade, her backing of the worship of "Demeter", and a mention of the seven provinces that give Pryzmira her power. There is more information than is given in the AWD portfolio, but maybe not what you are looking for.

I don't know how much of a straight translation the Codex will be from the D20 book. I imagine there will be some differences, but most entries are intentionally about the past so as not to cramp the CK's style when talking about the present.

Aihrde is to put it lightly, big. No scale is given but it seems to be at least a Jupiter-sized planet. To get any real detail, I think it would be useful to have a supplement that zooms in a little more after the Codex comes out. The Cradle of the World, New Aenochia itself, or even just the Blacktooth Ridge could benefit from a Codex-sized book. Personally I want to see the Cradle of the World as a series of Wilderland-style hex maps and more detail on the other Blacktooth Ridge dungeons (krekingolg, pieces of eight, etc.).

I think there will be revisions of names and possible conflicting information here and there. When they revised the After Winter's Dark folio a few years ago, I recall Stephen writing about the same sort of thing when it came to do it based on the earlier d20 (actually a pre-d20 version).

It should be awesome.
