Interesting little kickstarter from author neal stephenson and friends.

Watch the videos. I am dubious that they could pull off a true 1:1 simulation but it is definitely a fun idea

Love this guy.

Only read Snow Crash, but I thought it was a fantastic novel.

Looks like the kickstarter was funded, so we will see what they come up with

As for Stephenson, he has written some excellent books besides the delightful Snowcrash. Try Cryptonomicon (WWII cryptanalysis meets modern day treasure hunting) or Zodiac (environmentalism meets cyberpunk), or, if you have a loooong vacation, the Baroque Cycle
