Rule system

Post by western watcher »

Years ago I designed a western rpg. The major problem with it was I couldn't get the rules to gel like I wanted. Then I discovered C&C and the Siege Engine. Here was a system that made playing the game a priority once more. This was awesome to an old gamer like myself.

Here are my questions.

(1) Would Troll Lord Games object if I redesigned my game around the Siege Engine System?

(2) Does Troll Lord Games except submissions for new games from third party publishers?

Was "Go fer Your Gun" your game? Or just a helpful suggestion on a d20 western system. Whatever the case, it looked like it did fairly well considering the reviews. Having said that, I for one would love to see a seige engine western game.

It uses what is pretty much the SIEGE engine, with some alterations.

Go fer yer gun is pretty great, IMO. (there's one class where teh class design kind of compels player actions, and I"m not 100% sold on that)

That said, WW, contact the trolls and see what they say... or contact the GFYG people and see if they're interested in an expansion or somesuch.

or just rock some bitchin' houserules. In any event, i'd love to see what you're planning!

I wish I had something to do with "Go fer yer Gun", but I didn't. With my game I'm trying to do what TLG did by focusing on the adventure, and not on min/maxing to create Super Characters. That being said, I still want players to be able to create PCs that they will enjoy playing. :)

Go Fer Yer Gun was done by Simon Washbourne, who posts here on occasion as SimonW. He also posts a lot on my OD&D Discussion board (in my signature) if you are interested in contacting him.

I have an earlier version of GFYG, but it's C&C-based and I think it is well done and plays pretty fast and furious.

You may find that if you re-tool your system it may look a lot like GFYG when it's done.

Thanks for letting me know about Simon Washbourne. I'll get in contact with him to see if he has any advice. Lord knows I can use plenty of it.
