My recovery from the pneumonia is not going well, they are setting me up for an appointment tomorrow, so if you do not see any posts by me tomorrow night or Friday they hospitalized me.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

That's good news.

So, I guess Roll20 details to follow? Does it have macros we need to set up or places to upload sheets or anything?

Primarily common sense, but when specifics are needed the new 5th printing version.

For roll 20 I will be giving you a link, and yes, you will need to make macros, plus copy/paste your character to the character sheet within the program.

Nwelte has sent me the maps, so I can start setting up for the game tonight.

For now make sure you go to Roll20 and create your individual accounts, for those who don't already have one. You have to have a personal account for the link to work.

Since Roll 20 has had lots of issues, at least for me and those I already play with, with their audio/video system we will be using SKYPE for talking, and no video.

Since this is out of Beta by only a few weeks, making up player tokens are a bit cumbersome, so to speed that up I will select tokens for you, unless you link one here for me to use before game time tomorrow.

Good to hear!

I was sure that Treeborean constitution would see you through. My concern was, once you were in the hospital, you would need one of these before they let you out:

I will play a wizard. Suggestions from players welcome.

Since I don't get armor or a shield, can I get bracers of armor instead?
Does it stack with a ring of protection?
Can I take ring of protection instead of a staff +2? I see no point in buying a magic weapon as a wizard.

I remember that game. If I remember correctly, my paladin's body is collapsed at the top of said stairs with a blood drenched sword ... :(

I can't jump in a game with you all, but good luck!!! I'll be rolling dice with you in spirit!!!!! Hopefully next year I can be there with you all

You can get +2 Bracers, and yes, a Ring will stack with Bracers. Since C&C has no rules for stacking, we will default to 1E's rules. Yes, you can get the Ring instead of the Staff.

The Roll 20 game link: https://app.roll20.net/join/45321/JWdunw

Once you have your account set up just click on that link and "Join Campaign" and it will connect you. You should be able to sign in any time, even when I am not. Which is fine, you won't see anything I don't want you to between Fog of War and the other "protections" they give GM material. So feel free to sign in, check out the various tabs above the chat window, make macros (format is /roll 1d20+modifiers, or /roll 2d6+3, etc...). Macros are made under one of the tabs above the chat window, they are small and can be hard to spot at first. There is also a dice roller in the tool bar to the left. Sign in as soon as you can, because that will allow me to give you "permissions" to see your character sheet, see and use your token, etc...

I'm signed in right now beginning to work on those very things.

For rolling Hit Points, give max HP for first level, then roll randomly for the rest. For D10 if you roll a 1, 2 or 3 give yourself a 4 as your minimum. D8 types get a minimum of 3, D6 get a minimum of 2, and D4's get what you roll. In case anyone plays a Monk or Barbarian, D12's get a minimum of 5.

Glad you're feeling better, Tree.

In the interest of time, I'd like to play my character from several years ago. He was a 9th level, but I'll scale him down or post him and let you have a look at it, Tree.

I'll find him and post soon.

Yes.

With my pneumonia issues ongoing I doubt I can last that long.

We enter the front door, get burned by the guardians, then eaten alive by Strahd. Or we assault the crypt and become vampire spawn.

I am thinking its a 30 min. slaughter house. I thought you killed one group off in one session a few years back.

What I remember is my Pali. using his face to block a hammer of thunderbolts. Good times. ;)

Nice thing with this party, a lot of tanks and healing power. Maybe we got some staying power.

I think everyone has lasted until the second session. Only fast TPK I remember was many years ago. They didn't last much past room 3. Only reason they made it to room 4 was because they ran to it.

I'll be a wizard.

Question:

On the spell power word kill, the PH says, if the target/victim has 70 or fewer HPs, he dies. What if he had more, does he take those 70 HPs of damage?

Thanks. :)

No. Either they have under 70 HP and it kills them, or it has no effect. Unless, of course, they are already dead, then it never effects them.
