What Airdhe Products would you like to see?

Post by Julian Grimm »

Just curious as to what everyone wants to see for this world. So here's my wishlist:

1. Winters Dark Sourcebook

2. Gazetteer of Outremere

3. Updated Gaxmoor

4. Website page with plot hooks and lore sections that would enhance the setting.

5. Inzae

That's all I have for now.

I'm definately with you on Gaxmoor, convert the entire book and the introductory adventure from the Codex.

I'd like that too but I'm wondering if an option like Mystara's Gazetteet series would work as well. I remember it being discussed at one point.

I'd like to see it done like that one city from Earthdawn (Palanthias?) less adventure more exploration style setting. But I redone my GM to be that. Mor intriguing when you have no clue what to expect and don't have some survivors giving away locations.

They working on the After Winter's Dark setting, but I'm *still* confused as to what final form it's going to take. I wants me a big ol' book full of Aihrdean goodness! Hardcover! With kickass cover art by Peter The Great that'll make my friends wet their pants.

And there'd better be sharks with frikkin' laser beams attached to their heads!!

They've been curiously tight lipped. I wonder if they aren't sure yet or if there is a big surprise attached to it. I know they've been busy but I'd really like to see them start a Q&A thread here on the setting or give us some freebies to tide us over. The thing is we know more about Zagyg than we do Airdhe at this point.

Converted spells and magic items would be nice to see as well as the high-elf class converted to C&C and maybe some of the PrC's redone either as classes or some form of, dare I say it, kit to fit the game.

We need a module about shameful secrets being exposed..

We can call it "Airhde: The Dirty Linen"

All the above, PLUS . . . THE MAP!

Ya know, the one that will place the Blacktooth Ridge on the Bunce map and then fit it with the large map of Aihrde!!!

Oh yes. The map has to rock. I'd like to see two sizes. A Table sized map and then one big enough to hange on the wall.

The skinny on the codex so far

There wil be a short version like our original After Winter Dark setting released in 2000 - 32 pages.

There will then be a longer version. As with Aufstrag, the page limit is when Steve decides he is done. There will be more detail and such. It will be hardback.

The current thinking on the maps (more than one) is to have them place in a slip sleeve within the hardback much like those astoundingly cool books in the late 19th century.

We are trying to decide how to handle specific setting material like house rules, extra classes, monsters and such. Steve wants a seperate smaller hardback with player specific information and then the larger book would have the CK specific information.

The latter would allow for a shorter core book and one only the CK would need to buy (one per group really) then the player's guide the players could get instead of passing the one core book around.

Anyway, its underway.

Sounds pretty awesome. I like the idea of the 19th century style book slipsleeve and all. A players and CK book is a pretty neat idea as well and something I would buy but one problem is that us Airdhe die hards would buy both no matter what side of the screen we play on.

Any clues as to when we'll see either product?

The ONLY reason I would like Erde done (sorry, it will always be Erde to me) in smaller books is that it would hopefully result in more artwork from Peter. Full color cover art work.

But the HB idea does sound pretty cool, I'm just not sure what your talking about with the 19th century book slip covers. IF you could put more original art from Peter (full color or B/W) on those slip covers I know I will be happy.

I think I have seen the slip covers you are talking about, its just not a "clear" memory for me.

Can anyone give a link to an example?
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Any Aihrde product (aside from the adventures - I prefer writing up my own) is a guaranteed sell for me. The Campaign book and the Player's guide idea sounds fantastic to me - as does the slip sleeve idea for the maps. Of course, now that I'm all amped up for these products, they probably won't appear on the shelves until 2008. ><

Just keep daaaaaaangling that carrot, Trolls....you magnificent bastiches with your damnable creativity....

That is why I wish they'd give us something to tide us over until we see the books. I don't mind using the d20 codex but I want some C&C material yesterday.

Well, I believe that's what the 32 page 'primer' is for. It's something, at least....

I dont know about a link. But if you look at the Temple of Elementa Evil, it has a slip folder for maps.

OK, I do have that, so now I am in the "know". Even though I thought the 19th century version were a lot fancier.

I purchased the Codex of Erde for less than $2 used, was greatly impressed, but would love a full-color map included with the next book. In particular, I prefer hand-drawn map symbols as opposed to realistic relief-map types of terrain symbols. It makes the map seem more fantastic.

Hey Skylark, just in case you don't know it, the Trolls had the color map available free online. So here it is, if you're interested:

How about a "Magic of Airdhe" type book that gives us specific spells, magic items, artefacts and inside info on wizards guilds and such?

See, I had this really cool idea once that maybe the Trolls could use...I would assign articles of clothing that my girlfriend was wearing an AC value and have it silkscreened on the article in question....and then I'd break out the D20 and my character sheet and.....

Oh...this is the part where I like, shouldn't speak, huh?
