Beyond the comforts of home lie worlds of epic adventure.

The Grausamland swamps are dark and gloomy. The ground swells and bubbles, burping and spewing sulfurous odors through the red clay and black mud. Tangles of vegetation abound. Hulking trees grow out of the waterlogged land. They grow fast, evil things, feeding upon the dead that lay churned into the earth. They grow tall, reaching many hundreds of feet overhead. Their roots, like gnarled fingers dig deep into the earth, and their trunks grow like long spines out of the muck. From their branches hang curtains of green moss and drapes of yellow lichen. The branches on-high leaf out into narrow, thin green needles as thick as a wasp swarm blotting out all light. When they fall, which is too often, they lay in the swamp like pillars of stone, slowly decaying.

One sure road exists, the Wasting Way.

Centuries past, giants set their backs to building the causeway. It inched across the pools, from the north to the portico of the towering fortresses of Aufstrag. Five great barbicans they constructed and peopled with armies; each to give refuge to those traveled the road. Though nothing could wholly protect those supplicants of the horned god from the terrors of the Pools and such were the losses that travelers suffered that men took to calling the causeway The Wasting Way. But all that has fallen to the hand of time and war; now the Wasting Way stands abandoned and in ruins, and travel a nightmare.

Whether the journey carries you across the swamp upon the long abandoned causeway, or the Lady of Garun calls upon you to free her tormented soul from the grasp of the evil devil-lord Coburg the Undying, travel upon the Wasting Way is a journey fraught with peril and one only the stout of heart dare. But the unplundered wealth of a thousand years waits on the other side. Conquer the Wasting Way and come at last to the door step of Aufstrag!

We're still in the Slag Heap, so it'll be awhile before we get to this one. As soon as 12 and 13 are released, we'll see the next TLG boxed set...Umbrage 2: Electric Boogaloo! That's another thread from awhile back. Best not to think about it. Haha
