How much overlap exists between these two books if any?

I just received Monsters and Treasures of Aihrde in the mail today, but on a real quick flip-through of the book: there is very little, if any overlap.

I think I saw a few "duplicate" entries for humanoids such as dwarves, elves, and halflings; but it loooks like even those are different than the ones listed in Creatures and Treasures.

M&T:A looks to be full of unique monsters you won't find anywhere else, even other editions of The Game's Monster Manuals.

Very happy with my purchase!

M&T of A is a great book. If you look at the equipment section of the phb, you'll find a listing for a "walrus". 350 gp. M&T of A features the stats for the aforementioned beast. Certainly a staple of fantasy gaming!

I didn't think there was any overlap, honestly. I looked through half of both ToC's and the only think that was similar was the eagle. But one's a giant version and the other is a normal sized one. I think I'm safe to say that there is no overlap between the two.

Overlap? None. The original M&T is your standard, generic heroic fantasy monster guide. M&T of Aihrde is all about monsters (and treasure) specific to the Aihrde setting, though of course they can be adapted or dropped into any appropriate fantasy world.

Yeah, I don't recall any over lap of any kind between any of the monster books.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Yeah, it being only ten bucks made it looke tempting. Though I think I settled on "Of Gods and Monsters" for the same price. There is a pretty decent chance I might be getting Classic Monsters as a gift... if not I think ill have to grab that after the holidays. Then ill have enough bestiaries for the time being.
