Late Welcome to a New Crusader!

Post by ArgoForg »

So I'm a little late to the party doing so, but on December 29, I became a proud papa to a baby girl, Lyric Arcadia Hughey!

And I will do my damnedest to make sure she grows up in a household that embraces imagination and creativity. So hopefully RPG's, especially Harvesters and C&C, will be an early enjoyment for her! :D

Congrats!
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

If a seven-year old boy who has had his mind ruined by videogames can grasp Castles & Crusades (which he did, though now he's eight) then a newborn girl who hasn't even picked up a joystick can. (Keep her from videogames! There are crazy people who think videogames are role playing games!!)

After all, when it comes down to it, there are only two rules:

1. Roll a 20-sided die and add your modifiers.

2. Ignore Rule #1 if the Gamesmaster or you think of something funnier or more exciting for your character to do.

Much (and slightly belated) thanks to everyone for the well-wishes and congratulations! Lyric is a little doll, and she will no doubt not only have her dad wrapped around her little pinkie finger, but will consistently be skirting the edge of spoiled half to rotten. But you can be sure that she'll get a thorough amount of "real" gaming time and advice from dear old dad. Probably much like:

Me: Here you go, honey, let's show you how to play Castles and Crusades... it's a nice role-playing game where you can be a hero saving the world from dragons and evil sorcerers and vast armies of goblinkin...
Lyric: Sort of like World of Warcraft?
Me: Oh, sweet love of god, NEVER say that again. Remember what daddy taught you? MMORPGs are what?
Lyric: Mostly Men Online Role Playing Girls?
Me: Well... that, too. The other thing though, honey.
Lyric: Money-sucking Horsecrap with no story to speak of?
Me: There ya go. Now let me show you a real game with this thing we call 'imagination'.

(No enmity meant toward anyone who plays them, natch! :D )
