Anyone playing Assult on Blacktooth Ridge? A1

Post by keith »

I'm getting prepared to play some players thru this module and I have several questions
(Also, its been 20 years since being a game master ;) )

1. Are the dotted lines paths?

2. Should I give the players a copy of the map?
(If I do Im going to delete the locations not in the module and add them in after I make events up for those locations)

3. Where are these locations described in the module Gipsheim, Dreaddstun, House of Homonuculous and Slag Heap?
I think there is more not in the module. Are these places Im suppose to make events for?

Thanks for any and all help.

You don't get to some of those areas until modules A2 and A3, and no, I would not give them a map. I don't have A1 in front of me, so I can't say for sure about the dotted lines.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

My players will finish Slag Heap in upcoming weeks. If you haven't started A1 yet, I reccommend checking out A0 The Rising Knight. There's even the Umbrage Saga boxed set. It covers A0-A5, and includes a map and handy map booklet. A real bargain!

You do whatever you want. Give them a map; don't give them a map -- your call. I'd make them ask for one, not hand one over. Like, they'd have to find someone with one and then get it somehow.

If you're not playing the rest of the A-series and the party goes off into one of those area not detailed, you play along and make it up, or you find some way to "stop them" without it feeling like a choo-choo. Since they are only mentioned, apparently, you can have those places somewhere else far, far away... if you then decide to play the rest of the A modules, you can play around with their heads.

The dotted lines can be roads, paths, dotted lines... I don't recall what their intent was, but probably some sort of path.
