4 more months until the 2E reprints!
4 more months until the 2E reprints!
I'm only buying the MM, and probably a copy of the PH, via Amazon. Not bothering with the DMG this time around since I have never liked it. Since both of my MM HC's are getting very "wobbly" in their bindings, and two of my PH's are very beat up from 12 years of heavy weekly usage, I figure getting new premium printings while I can are a smart move.
So really looking forward to these, as well as the other 1E reprints coming out, such as the adventures and the new Unearthed Arcana.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

If they come out with fully linked PDF's I might consider.

No interest here. My original copies are still good to go. Plus, I don't think I have played 2E since 1998.

I might get a PHB and a MM, but the 2e DMG was a travesty of words, ink, and paper. Reprinting it kills forests.
Really, I'd rather WotC did something awesome, like making a Monstrous Index, providing stats for every monster TSR/WotC has printed, regardless of edition or source. They did that sort of for magic; it's time the critters got the love.

Now, my 1st printing, 1st Edition, Deities & Demigods is getting old, if they want to reprint that WITHOUT alteration, I'll buy it.
Re: 4 more months until the 2E reprints!
Pdf's?? Nope. That leads to piracy and illegal downloads. Oh wait...that already happened due the lack of official pdf's.
Are these 2nd ed. printings going to be the 1989 or 1995 version?
Re: 4 more months until the 2E reprints!
No urge to buy the repeints since all of my 2e books are still in great shape.

From what I've heard rumblings of, they are going to be of the '95 variety. I'd prefer the '89 ones myself, but I was one of those weirdos that was a fan of the blue art.tylermo wrote:Are these 2nd ed. printings going to be the 1989 or 1995 version?
I'm buying them. All three. I got the 1e ones for Christmas, but I haven't cracked them open yet. I didn't buy the 3.5 books, and probably won't, and was a little aggravated with WotC's decision to reprint them that quickly. Though I think it was a choice that was financially motivated (as I felt WotC had finally realized the amount of gamers they neglected with the move away from 3.x). Besides, 2e was probably my favorite edition. Sounds weird to some probably, but I liked it. I've really grown to appreciate it in the past 5 years or so.
Really looking forward to the S and A series reprints as well as the 1e Unearthed Arcana reprint, too!

Re: 4 more months until the 2E reprints!
I'm still iffy on buying them. On one hand my 2e books are in great shape, on the other I would like to support the reprint efforts. Unfortunately my gaming dollar is pretty small so I only want to get stuff I know I will use. More than likely I won't get them but will pick up some of the modules they plan on reprinting.

I'm in the same boat. I don't own any of those modules, so that's probably what I'll get.Julian Grimm wrote:I'm still iffy on buying them. The reprint I am hoping for is TOEE, I think that was the 'Killer App' for AD&D and the most classic adventure. Even if they just did The Village of Hommlett I would be happy.

Definitely. The prices for a used copy are through the roof on Amazon.Julian Grimm wrote:The reprint I am hoping for is TOEE, I think that was the 'Killer App' for AD&D and the most classic adventure. Even if they just did The Village of Hommlett I would be happy.
Of course, we can now purchase the PDF.

Re: 4 more months until the 2E reprints!
Yeah, like I mentioned above, I'm buying because my books are heavily worn from 12 years of heavy use. Granted I could get used copies much cheaper, but since I am so happy with the 1E reprints I feel its worth getting these as well.
