C&C Rules Compendium
Does anyone use the C&C Rule Compendium? I like some of the classes I there and want to use them in my Wilderlands campaign, but I want to know if anyone has play tested them yet. Generally I will use them for NPC’s, but there may be one or two I would allow as player characters.
Re: C&C Rules Compendium
I believe Lord Seurek allowed a couple of them in his Myth Drannor game, but that was before the Rule Compendium was even compiled.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Seriously, no one else has tried any of these out?

I must be behind on this. What is the C&C Rules Compendium?

I noticed you gone, Tree, but never realized it had to do with the compendium. I didn't realize that.Treebore wrote:An issue that led to me leaving this forum for over a year. If you want a copy of it send me your e-mail.Julian Grimm wrote:I must be behind on this. What is the C&C Rules Compendium?
Wait...you talking about that crusader companion, Tree. If so, I do remember that. Ugh.
I thought it was alright. I don't think a lot of it got playtested, but that's my personal opinion. I don't think there was anything in there too game-breaking.

Re: C&C Rules Compendium
The Compendium was a completely different animal than the Companion. After having my memory refreshed I can see why the Compendium was so controversial. That said, I have to give praise to it as an attempt at making an SRD for C&C. However, the execution was questionable and needed to be revised to work as it should have.

Re: C&C Rules Compendium
Okay, so I think I remember the conversation (I think it was the one where the guy wanted to host it on the boards, Peter got involved, it got messy, etc., etc.) but I guess I have the wrong pdf in mind. I guess maybe I never had the Companion. Maybe Tree can send it to me, too...if you're listening, Tree...

The link to the Companion can be found here. It's the second download.

Re: C&C Rules Compendium
Well golly, I had no idea there was controversy...
I have both and as I remember, they were not all that different. I was giving thought to using a few of the classes. I want to dress up my NPC selection for my Wilderlands campaign. Keeping it simple however, is the key. I have been fiddling with different multi-class combinations. That would keep it basic C&C.

Re: C&C Rules Compendium
No, I do not use it.
My NPCs are only "classed" if they matter, and 99% do not.

Re: C&C Rules Compendium
Can't say I've used the classes just because there are so many already in core C&C.
I've used some of the monsters and items though.
