Box weight: 25.2 pounds
Maps laid out: 31 square feet
Maps laid out end-to-end: 13.8 feet long

No. of 2-D counters: 1,100
No. of 3-D counters: 104
Total no. of counters: 1,204

Can't wait for my copies to arrive! I'll have to have my wheel barrow or something on hand to get them into the house.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Yeah, I wanted in on this, I am a little sad, but I just couldn't afford it at the time, with one of the reasons being the shipping price to Canada.

I do have something that does lift my heart. I hear there is serious thought of doing a Car Wars version and I'm more of a Car Wars guy and I have some time to start squirreling away some money to cover the cost.

Not thought, its being done. I am part of the forums for the work being done on it. Which was one of the perks for backing the OGRE KS.

I wanted to get in on this, too. I've never played OGRE, nor do I have any reasonable prospects of playing it if I got it, but it just looked so damn cool on the kickstarter. The price was over my threshold for impulse purchases, so I avoided buying an awesome game I'll never play.

Its a quick game. When I used to play it the sessions lasted as little as 20 minutes, and the longest I recall was about a hour and a half. I think most were between 30 to 45 minutes. So it wasn't hard to get people to give it a try, just most people don't like such tactical games, so even after playing, still didn't like tactical games, but some did.

I had the old original microgame back before I started really gaming. no idea where it came from (in terms of being in my house), but I fell in love immediately. this was like, 1988ish I stumbled across it, maybe in a pile of my brother's comics? can't recall.
SJG is reproducing it for the original 1974 price of 3 bucks! whoo hoo! not as neato as the huge edition, but for three bucks and 1d6, hours of fun!

I get one as part of my package, so I can let you know how it looks once they ship it.

I've got two of these coming, as I bought an extra set for Ben. The delivery guy is gonna hate me that day. Definitely looking forward to setting this up and slinging some nuclear shells!

I passed as well but almost pulled the trigger, like Sir Ironside I was a Car Wars nut and will not be able to resist that KS.
