This year's Fantasy Grounds II virtual con is open to registration for players and GMs. Last year I signed up for a C&C game, a Basic Fantasy game, Pathfinder, and The One Ring. There were some technical difficulties but it was a lot of fun. There is at least 1 C&C game this year. If the GM has the Ultimate License, then you can play with the free demo download of Fantasy Grounds.
For those who do not know, Fantasy Grounds is virtual tabletop. Depending on the system it has rulebooks, token, maps, character sheets, dice, and text chat. For voice, last year we did TeamSpeak or Ventrilo, don't remember which. The different rulesets vary in their complexity: the Pathfinder one is very well supported and has ways to click around and do just about anything the rules let you. The C&C one is more free-form and has community support to add other features.
If you can't find anyone to play with and can't get to any face to face conventions, why not give this a try.

Re: FG2 Con 2013
The one C&C game so far is early morning; deciding whether to take the day off and play with the Australians. I'm sure it would be fun.
The C&C ruleset for Fantasy Grounds II has been an interesting development. There is an official ruleset, and it works well enough, but there is also an extension to it which has been developed by the community. The person who originally developed it seems to have disappeared and someone else has taken over from some unreleased source he left behind. Meanwhile volunteers from the community are still converting new modules as they come through from TLG.
I wonder if Damned is going to preview the newer extension. Currently C&C is sort of behind the curve; I've played that ruleset and it's pretty good, but when I played a Pathfinder game with it I was lost as there were so many features available I didn't know about, like selecting targets and having context sensitive things available.

Re: FG2 Con 2013
So far, besides the C&C game, there is Deadlands (Savage Worlds), Star Wars using FATE, lots of Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu D20, and The One Ring. Some of those are Full License, so you need to buy a lite version of FG II to play, the others are Ultimate so you can play with the free demo.
If you don't make any of these there is also Aethercon in November for those who do the virtual thing.
