Barbarian Whirlwind attack

Post by PeelSeel2 »

Ok, brushing up on the rules.

Barbarians at 4th basically get an extra attack once per combat when standing next to 2 enemies? Only once? What are peoples house rules on this?

I just let it last the whole combat, or for rounds equal to the Barbarians level when the game is low level.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Cool. That sounds like a good way to do it. The lack of memory from my last C&C campaign is certainly greater than I thought it would be.

I haven't given it much thought, but I'd probably go with usable a number of times per combat equal to level. That makes sense to me.

I also ignore the HD requirement.

Play as is or let them whirlwind # of times per day equal to level so 4th level barbarian can whirlwind 4x a day. Also, drop the HD requirement.

I wouldn't hand out too many whirlwinds, especially since the barbarian can do non-combat stuff like track and hunt (unlike the fighter who can only fight.)

Another thought. The primal will ability which awards extra HP for a combat. Consider giving Temp HP instead of HP.

I went back and forth in my head between times per day and times per combat. In the end, I just wrote down times per combat, but I think I prefer the times per day way of thinking.

Yeah, let them use it once per combat, for however many rounds, then they can use it "X" number of additional times on a given day. I wouldn't lot it be a lot, though. They already out shine the fighter class in a lot of ways. I'd probably limit it to once per day + CON modifier, or something.

Thats great! Whirlwind attack 1+con mod times per day. I think that is a great way to count it!
