Anyone else feeling spammed by TLG?
Anyone else feeling spammed by TLG?
I opened up my e-mail today and I had an HH KS update via each and every TLG KS I ever backed.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Re: Anyone else feeling spammed by TLG?
Ya, I've noticed that too. I wish there were a way for them to collate the email addresses so I'd only get any particular message once. I suspect there's a way to opt out, though - I should just look next time ...
Re: Anyone else feeling spammed by TLG?
The unfortunate side effect of any sort of Kickstarter type campaign is the (unintended) over-saturated load of information that gets pushed off on our most loyal and faithful fans. It is also the biggest drawback of how most automated systems delivery systems work. I have to put up with the same thing in a (private) server system in a public school about 3 times a day. I would personally like to apologize for your email inconveniences because I know I have been pushing Steve as much as anyone to try and get these made into hardbacks and get to the other cool options that you all deserve!
The "insider" reality is that in order for the hardback goals and beyond to happen, involves a lot of social media work to mass the troops because printing quality bound hardbacks isn't free. This isn't a matter of "being greedy" because obviously the goals weren't set from the get go in a $20,000 or we don't play range like a LOT of the RPG Kickstarters that you see. The initial goal said "This much pays Casey, Peter, Artem, and softback costs, and in return you get your books."
Believe me, I don't particularly want to "spam" my friends and family members who could give a rip about gaming in my daily posts on FB or G+ or Twitter or whatever but it has to be done throughout the course of a Kickstarter or other crowd-funded event because that is how you get the information out to the troops. You know equally well that Steve doesn't want to be in your mailbox 24/7 either! He wants Dr. Pepper, bologna sandwiches, and everyone to be happy!
The troops have thus far massed VERY strongly in favor of bringing these products to print, and in getting hardback levels established for the first book. This is a feat for which I am quite grateful and extremely humbled!
Again, accept my deepest apologies. Just trying to get you what you want!

Re: Anyone else feeling spammed by TLG?
What I did was unsubscribe from the feeds of completed Kickstarters. That helped a ton.
I love the Trolls, but when I see 3 e-mails from them about the same thing, it's time to take action.

I would reiterate what Casey said regarding the multiple emails. There is no way that we know of making sure people only get one email from us, if you have backed more than one of our Kickstarters in the past. We recognize that it can be annoying and we apologize. But hopefully people won't be too put off; we are just trying to get the word out as much as possible to get this the attention it deserves. To our fans we appreciate your patience and time and hopefully once this is out everyone will be happy with the final product. Thanks again for your patience and your support!

I'll just do as suggested above next time, just unsubscribe to the KS' that are over, since I am part of this new one.timburns wrote:I would reiterate what Casey said regarding the multiple emails. Yeah, I'd rather get two of the same e-mail and delete one, than not get the e-mail in the first place. I'm interested in staying current.

No, I don't feel spammed. I'd have to read emails to feel that. Or sponsor a KS.

Re: Anyone else feeling spammed by TLG?
This time around I opted out on all but the HH one. So until the next KS, no more feeling like I am being Spammed. Even then, hopefully next time around, I'll remember to opt out the first time.

Thanks, Dragonhelm (for the tip) and NJPDX (for the link) in helping me de-clutter my email inbox in future!

Every link we had been sent had an "unsubscribe" link in it. I think its required, because all of the other e-mails I get from companies and politicians has a similar "unsubscribe" link in them.Zudrak wrote:Thanks, Dragonhelm (for the tip) and NJPDX (for the link) in helping me de-clutter my email inbox in future!

You guys are welcome.
Re: Anyone else feeling spammed by TLG?
It's my own fault. I retrieve my email mostly on my phone anymore and don't download the whole message. So, the link would've remained unseen.Treebore wrote:Every link we had been sent had an "unsubscribe" link in it.
