Yet more character sheets

Post by madirishman »

OK, I'm working on C&C versions like I did before, but I posted some new (old) AD&D sheet replicas on my site that might interest folks - the DM's Adventure Log, for example, is usable as is with C&C. (And feel free to post on any old skool D&D boards you frequent...)

Cheers,

Patrick

Can't wait to see the Permanent Character Record and Adventure Record done for C&C! Hehe, looks like I'm gonna have to go out and buy some more colored paper. BTW, anyone know what weight the original paper was? Right now I'm printing on 24 lb. paper.

Well, having started on the Permanent Record Sheet, maybe you shouldn't be so excited.
The trick may be to do something more in the spirit of a Perm. Char. Rec., since if you look at the old one from TSR, it really sucks! There's no AC or saves on the darned thing, and all the extra space for "fluff" (read: cool character background and stuff) is not the fluff I would want. (All that space for family enemies? Investments?) I'd personally want something like the goldenrod sheets expanded to 4 or 6 pages.

So I may do one which most closely follows the TSR sheet, then redo it to not suck so bad. I think the Adventure Record will be much cooler.

Still, it's fun.

Just now checked out your sheets.

Seriously, they kick ass.

The REF-2 one is without a shadow of a doubt what I've been looking for.

Awesome.

Man, I'd use the REF-2 in a heartbeat if the INT and WIS were switched with DEX and CON, ala 2e.

Just checked out the spell planner, and that's exactly what I've been looking for.
BTW, M.I., would you mind if I either hosted a copy of your Dragonlance 5th age sheet or linked to it from the Dragonlance Nexus?

Yeah, I did this with the other sheet, so to be honest, I'm not really sure why I didn't include the option to reorder them here. I'll fix that.

No problem, I just ask you link back to my site, thanks.

I just worked on a conversion of an old character from AD&D to C&C tonight, and I've got to say that the Ref-2 sheet just made my night. What I like about it is that it's consistent with my old character sheet, yet takes advantage of C&C's mechanics as well. That helped out the whole process.

I've been geeking out about this sheet all night. 8)

I agree, this is the best C&C sheet I've seen. It immediately saw use by my group.

I did encounter one problem with this sheet, but not a big deal. When you change the ability scores to the new order, the saves don't change with them. Not a big deal really. Just something I noticed.

I actually fixed that a while ago and yet, that version didn't magically upload itself without my help!
Anyway, I believe I have just uploaded two fixed versions of both the goldenrod and REF2 sheets.

You are Da Man (tm)!

I really appreciate this, my man. I tried making my own character sheet, and it's functional, but it lacks any flavor. The REF-2 version that you created is almost exactly like the old character sheets I used, minus that pesky green color.

I've been geeking out ever since I saw these. Thanks for the great work, Mad Irishman. You're the best.
