Average Treasure Values

Post by PeelSeel2 »

Anyone have the average treasure values for C&C? Anyone know how to calculate them?

I am writing a program to generate treasure. When I am done I'll run it a few hundred thousand times for each type and grab the average. Someone who understands probability better than me might just be able to calculate it but this will be close enough I think.

Just do it the way you would figure the average dice roll. 3.5 is the average D6. If Type X treasure has a 50% chance of 1D6 worth of G.P. it would = 3.5 * .5 = 1.75 G.P.

Dammit! That is easy enough. I should have looked at it that way.

I'd think that'd get complicated when you go down the longer graphs, like

Magic Item -> What Kind of Magic Item -> What Bonus -> Filter on value limit -> etc.

Though I guess the probability collapses, it's just weird to me.

For that part you change from average monetary value to Average Magic Item type or something.

BTW, looking at the value column, I don't know of a magic item of 100 GP or less

I think it says to filter the value on exp.
