I like the flavor, thats for sure. I'd lower Call of the Faithful to 9th level. A campaign getting to 9th level is rare enough, with 12th being even rarer, so I prefer with lowering level requirements simply to make it more likely that the player will see those class abilities before the campaign ends. Plus the XP jump is pretty big starting at 8th level anyways.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I would give them Lance ability of the Knight at one less than the Knights, I would also change the Magic to able to cast divine magic as a caster quarter the level in knighthood starting with the ability to cast zero level spells and if you want to keep the feel of the writing I would make it druid spells in your campaign. I am now thinking up what level and stats the main characters would have

I think a great alternative is using the Class and a half rules. I am playing a Class and a half Knight/Cleric and I definitely model him after Sparhawk.

Thanks Tree. I try to do classes that have their own flavor rather than being a variant or imitation of another. Pondering another class this morning called the Animator. Could be interesting in how it gels out.

Lowered the Call to 9th like you suggested Tree. Drac, I really don't want them being able to do much in the way of spell levels since that would detract from the cleric's role, but I do want them to have a touch of magic. Their focus is martial and the lance is one of the primary attacks of a knight so I left that alone as I feel it would be a basic focus of their training concerning their nature yet since they aren't true knights they don't get any of the fancy tricks. I do appreciate the feedback though. :)

While I can appreciate the Class and a Half rules, I try not to utilize them much.

Yep. The only real advantage to Class and a Half rules is you don't have to write up an entirely new class. Just writing up a new class does give you what you are specifically looking for. I didn't want to make my CK write up a class for me, so made it work with the existing rules he did allow, and I have been happy enough with the results. If this write up had existed before, I would have seen if he would have allowed this. Are you going to allow Peter to add this to the C&C Companion PDF?

If Peter wants to I have no objections. I just share so folks can scoff at or play with 'em as they want. :)

Oooooo, that's spiffy. I dig it. I have a friend who would cut someone to be allowed to play a Church Knight. I'll have to show this to her at some point.

Edited a little. Noticed I had forgotten to mention anything about spell progression.

What would you give it for an xp progression table? Share that of a paladin?

Yeah. That's what the last line says. :) Both BtH and EPP are per the Paladin table.
