Airdhe Map with Hex Overlay

Yo Troll Lord, what are the chances that we can get a copy of the Airdhe map with hexes? I would buy that.

You know, honestly, I hadn't thought of that. We can easily offer that in the digital version. Peter designed the grid long ago, and Darlene designed another one for HH Maps.

The plan presently is to do a one large printed map in the next few months.

I know the question wasn't directed at me, but given a choice I'd prefer not gridded.

I love maps. I don't want anything obscuring the beauty of it.

I still have my old Forgotten Realm gridded over lays for when I need a Hex Grid. So doing it just on the digital versions is fine with me, especially if you make it easy to turn on and off. Which should be dirt simple to do.

Shazam! I want both, but willing to settle on digital. I use these hex grids for locating exact positions of adventures, special features, villages and the like. One of the single most important factors keeping me from playing a campaign in Aihrde, has been, that there was no grid. Both classic worlds I have played, Wilderlands and Greyhawk, were on grids.

Want to add some real love? Number the hexes like JG or use a framing number system around the outside like TSR (Darlene) did. But yes, grid please!

Just to be clear, I am fine with there being a grid on the physical maps too. I am just saying why its not a big deal for me to have them in the first place. I already have grids any time I want them. Just take measures to make sure the grids don't ruin the "art" of the map itself.

I'm with Tree on this one, If I have maps in print I love them like good 'art' so hesitate to have them gridded (at least if it takes away from the map) & somewhere in my boxes I still have the FR grids. So, I can always throw the grid on top when needed.

But I do use grids, so would love them as an option on the digital versions. Especially, like Tree said, if you can turn the grid on & off (not sure how hard that is though ..)

I'm torn on the grids, I liked them on my Grayhawk maps of old, but I really like these non-gridded deals we have now.

Doing a separate transparency would be cool, but probably cost prohibitive. Might do a small one you can move about. Let me ponder this one.

You can always provide a grid on a .jpg, then we can go to Staples and get them printed out on those over head projector things, which is exactly what TSR did for the FR ones I already have. Just they had a printer do it, instead of Staples. Heck, if you guys still have those machines you used to make your own soft covers with, I bet that could handle it if you want to include them in our orders. Charge us a little bit for them too, to save us the time and effort it would take to get them done at Staples with good permanent inks. For me thats an hour drive each way, so I'd pay to have you do them for me. Within reason, since I go by that Staples once or twice per month, regardless.

Argh, I knew I should have double checked.

24 mile hexes are interesting, but I think where hexes would be most useful would be in Blacktooth Ridge; it can be adapted fairly readily to a hexcrawl. In any case, a layer in the PDF seems like a great idea, especially with a number layer so we can all talk about what is in hex B-12 or whatever.

In the print product, I am afraid it probably needs to be a choice; you should offer both.

Probably not the most ideal but cheaper in the long run would be to get the grids you want photocopied onto acetate and then use it as a clear overlay onto any map you'd like.

I know there are some free websites out there that let's you scale the grids to any size you want, I used to have one bookmarked, but when I migrated to the new computer I never added the link because I never used the service.
