I have many ideas for this product line. Cities, Nations, Worlds, Planes, Religions, etc etc. And, in fact, I sometimes come back to a decently large file for monsters, once called Creature Crucible, which intends to provide many and various things for those beings... however, my favorite of these is thus far: Engineering Apocalypse -- The 12 Step Guide to Destroying the World.

I'd love to buy a good-quality C&C t-shirt with a giganto logo on it. (There are several to pick from. I really like the early C&C logos, but the newer blocky rectangular one is kind of neat, too.) Doesn't have to come with a lot of fancy artwork, just the logo.

Mentioned in another thread somewhere...
Codex Monstrosity: A collection off all the C&C Monster Books in one tome.
Codex Crusade: A PHB and CKG combined (along with the Players Option Book soon to be released) (A bit similar to the Pathfinder Rulebook)
Perhaps a limited print of PHB, CKG, and M&T together.
A revised C&C Whitebox with Levels 1 thru 5...Followed by the C&C Blackbox with levels 6-10...Followed by the C&C Bluebox with Leves 11-15...and finally a C&C Red Box, with levels 16-23 (or whatever is highlevel, don't have my CKG with me and the haven't released the epic level stuff from the kickstarter) these would be evergreen products like the CKG, PHB and M&Ts. Just with updated printing.
C&C Pawns. Like Paizo, but for specific adventures.
C&C Herolab stuff. I know Boomer is doing a great job with the authoring kit, let's make it official so we can add more content.
More C&C Fantasy Grounds Stuff. Awesome stuff, more adventures please!

TLG is sitting on a possible gold mine with this idea. Figure flats and terrain for Fields of Battle, Pawns for C&C, or even counters. Fat Dragon is sitting in a prime position to partner with TLG on this. I wish they would make it a go.
Just a mental exercise here but this is what I would do:
C&C Core Line: A series of sets that would cover Adventurers, NPC's and the core monsters from M&T. You could expand to add in Classic Monsters and Tome of the Unclean at later dates.
Aihrde: Aihrde specific monsters, adventurers and NPCs.
Fields of Battle: Geared to skirmish and large scale combat. The sets would include troops, Siege engines and terrain.
Haunted Highlands: Like the Aihrde set.
Other SIEGE: Amazing Adventures, StarSIEGE and Harvesters.
The beauty is that this could all be done in PDF and use existing artwork and would be cheaper than a full on mini's line.

Re: Stuff I'd Buy if TLG Made It
Julian, I was telling somebody recently that TLG needs to (at least) offer the figure flats from the original FoB boxed set as a pdf. Bare minimum, they could take images from the various monster books and use those to provide additional unit types. Casey or somebody could create stats for all of them. All they need is a little time. More support for Fields of Battle.
Also, a pdf of the blank unit card that used to be provided with the set.
Re: Stuff I'd Buy if TLG Made It
So many projects I am reminded of... like my random scenario generator for Fields of Battle.
I think an expansion, something like Julian mentioned, maybe called "Fields of Glory," could be sweet. Add in about 5-6 pop-up constructs from FDG... maybe a catapult, some sort of tower, a city. I dunno. The terrain pieces would need to be on some sturdy cardstock / cardboard.

Re: Stuff I'd Buy if TLG Made It
Codex Romantica- Roleplaying in the age of the medieval romances of Arthur, Charlemange, and Robin Hood
Codex Classica- Roleplaying in the ancient days of Egypt, Greece, and Rome
Codex Hyborea- Roleplaying the greatest fantasy world ever created
Codex Disnia- Roleplaying in the world of fairy tales (my wife really wants this one)
Other than that, I'd like to see full color CKG and M&T come out before I hit the age of retirement.
I'd like to have the print version of Tome of the Unclean as well.
And a reprint of the Black Book of Nartarus.
I'd like to see a Tome of Equipment that treats the subject with an eye towards historical accuracy instead of the fantastical nonsense that most Arms & Equipment Guides devolve into.
I'd like to see a Of Ships and the Sea-style gaming sourcebook with a fully developped Mariner class, discussion of the history of ships and stats for dozens of them, random nautical adventures tables, etc.
I second the notion that I'd like to see an expanded/completed Of Gods and Monsters. I'll add that besides the missing gods and monsters from the book, I'd like to see the heroes from Deities and Demigods added back in and a chapter on the Cthulhu Mythos. King Arthur desrves his own book and can thus be omitted and the Airdhe stuff belongs in the Airdhe codex-- another book I'd like to see before my bones lie bleached in the sun.
Oh- and I'd like to see StarSeige done in a way more consistent/compatible with the C&C rules, including a class-based character system. Maybe something like X-Plorers or Stars Without Number, but a little more Star Frontiers than Traveller. I really, really don't want to have to use a scientific graphing calculator to handle starship movement and combat...

Yes, but Mad Max is coming out in the near (?) future and there needs to be a new and good Robert Doyel-(you may have heard of him)-authored Post-Apocalyptic game out there to capture the spirit of the culture that will (hopefully) soon be sick of OMGZOMBIES and want something else to do with their (little) spare time. Let's say there was a guy like Mr. Doyel who made some cool gaming stuff in the past, just for chutes and wiggles, who had hinted at making a PA game... Me too! The latest KS is making the color CKG and M&T possible - let's hope they get printed soon! The 6th printing phb was fast and looks beautiful - I'm sure the color printing of CKG and M&T will be just as nice!REHowardfanatic wrote:Other than that, I'd like to see full color CKG and M&T come out before I hit the age of retirement.

Plans change, sometimes, or they think they do. I'm toying with a considerable simplification... 4 attributes rather than 6, for example, to go along with my other new idea to rewrite Reptiles and Samurai: A Game of Mutants, Magic, and Something. Not sure. Last time I mentioned R&R, there seemed to be little to no interest which is more than disheartening. I may have been a lone voice RE: R&R at the time it was being bandied about in your head. Or maybe it was when I was not "on" here as often after re-marrying and moving. I'd still be very interested in it. I always loved Gamma World and a Serleran version of a PA game is something I would love to see -- especially after hearing what I did about it.
Happy gaming,

DM Samuel, A0-A5 were available in one softcover book with a box, but I sold our last copies of the "Umbrage Saga" at convention last year. Not 100% certain, but I'm not sure it will be reprinted. I "think" the plan is for Stephen to eventually finish A13:Aufstrag (page count is said to be as big, or bigger, than total of A0-A12 combined). Thought I heard a rumor of one big mega-compilation. I'm really excited about Aufstrag. I figure that's going to take some time, and my off and on A-series campaign (since Sept. 2011) derailed several months ago anyway. So, no big hurry for A13, I guess. Who am I kidding?? I still want to read it.
Re: Stuff I'd Buy if TLG Made It
Oh yes, I know - I already have the whole series A0 through A12, along with the Umbrage Saga boxed set. But I would still buy a hardcover set of A0-A12 with maps printed in a folio folder. That would be a dream book, and would pair (triple?) nicely with Aufstrag book + A13, right on my bookshelf!tylermo wrote:DM Samuel, A0-A5 were available in one softcover book with a box, but I sold our last copies of the "Umbrage Saga" at convention last year. Re: Stuff I'd Buy if TLG Made It
I think all boxed sets are out of print now as box maker for TLG is no longer there. Good news is the printing capabilities for hardbacks and softbacks has jumped enormously over the last several years, and the kickstarter format has worked well for the most part in pre-financing the costs on projects it would seem.
What do I want to see:
With the 6th printing and forward:
Finish up the Core of M&T and CKG in full-color matching, then also Classic Monsters and Of Gods & Monsters in the same way, add the missing gods to OG&M, do Tome of the Unclean and then with future reprints DON'T redo the trade dress for a good while, at least several printings - let these be THE look of C&C for a good while (fix minor errata etc. inside but resist urge to major changes).
Finish the Aihrde works - new Codex and A13 plus both individual and packaged versions of A0-A12. I personally think M&TA stands good as it is now.
Get Victorious done and out
The Rogues Gallery - this would be VERY useful!
To grow the brand, keep enhancing additional setting material - HH and Bluffside are tremendous products. Expand new worlds and settings (heh - I have one I wouldn't mind cleaning up and reworking a bit to see as a real published world
)

A core rules type program that would handle campaign development and the ability to run the game from your own lap-top or computer. This would also include add-ons for things like Haunted Highlands, Aihrde and new books. There would be mapping software, NPC and PC creation, encounter builders and a section that would integrate house rules.

A C&C book for Conan-type fantasy?? That would be great. One of Savage Worlds' licensees has done Beasts and Barbarians. It's pretty good. As I've said before, would have been great if (in addition to Solomon Kane) Pinnacle Entertainment could've gotten the chance to do Conan. I suspect the licensing fees are higher for Conan.

Seems like some of us were talking about a C&C Cyclopedia. For me, that would be phb+m&t+some a few other creatures and herd animals from m&t of a, and a few things from the ckg (levels 13-24, the extra combat maneuvers, and some of the other useful material).

How about an 80 page supplement called Engineering Minutiae featuring tons of random rolled tables covering things like d20 Table of What's for Dinner, 2d12 Table of What Deity the Stain on Your Shirt Resembles, or (if we follow the WOTC mentality) the d100 Table of Character Gender?

Perhaps then they could do King Kull? Surely those rights aren't even as high as Solomon Kane?
Or a Kickstarter to buy the Conan rights? Even I would come up off my cheap ass to support that!
(Or course, Castles and Crusades is the ONLY system I have ever seen where doing Robert E. Howard is possible. The power level and rarity of spellcasters is just right. Plus, the barbarian class the Troll Lords present is by far the best one ever published and the only one that truly reflects everyone's favorite sullen-eyed Cimmerian!)
