I recently picked up this nice cheap PDF:

I've noticed a couple of different recent threads in which some folks said they get overwhelmed with the details of published settings. If that's the case, this might be for you. It's a short product - 56 pages, so definitely not overwhelming. It's got an old-school (I suppose some might say "vanilla") feel, perfect for any D&D / C&C set of races, classes, monsters, etc. It provides a very brief description of each area (with a nice big world map without a lot of detail), and then a little more detail for the central Kerenak province (with it's own close map).
Anyway, it's pretty cool, and perhaps worth checking out, FYI.
EDIT: Oh yeah, it's also completely rules-agnostic.

Re: Kerenak Kingdoms
I really like this setting. Just enough to give some creative flavor and set the stage, with plenty of room for you to be creative and fill in the rest. I am one of those people who typically do my own world settings, and don't like exhaustive campaign settings as a rule. If I have to spend a million hours literally studying a world's geography, cultures, history, and politics, I am going to opt out. The whole selling point of buying premade settings and adventures is to allegedly save you time. I find that these exhaustive types of settings actually take far more time than just doing it myself.
And as a side note, I actually enjoy the Barebones Fantasy game they put out as well.

I've looked at that several times. You're saying it's worth it?kreider204 wrote:I recently picked up this nice cheap PDF:

If that's the sort of thing you're looking for, and you have $3.49 to spare, ya, I'd recommend it.

Re: Kerenak Kingdoms
I went ahead and got the print/PDF POD option. Still under $14, even with the $4 shipping.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I'll give it a look through as I find the time.

My print copy arrived today. Its about the size of the little brown books of the original D&D boxed set! I'll have to see if it fits inside the box.

Ya, my hardcopy of the BBF core rule book is about that size too - I think they all are. Very portable!
