Abed's DM philosophy

Post by kreider204 »

I watched the recent D&D episode of COMMUNITY, and I really enjoyed Abed's little speech near the end:

"I owe you nothing. I am a dungeon master. I create a boundless world and I bind it by rules. Too heavy for a bridge? it breaks. Get hit? Take damage. Spend an hour outside someone's front door fighting over who gets to kill him? He leaves through the back. He's out there somewhere. You might find him if you get your crap together."

I need to memorize that for the next time my players complain. :)

Haven't seen that, but I'll have to check it out. I always enjoyed the D&D references in Freaks and Geeks, particularly the Discos and Dragons episode.

The first D&D episode is better in my opinion.

If you don't watch Community, you should. It's a great show. I suggest watching the show a few times before watching the D&D one, though. I watched it first and was confused about the characters. But seriously, watch it.

And I agree 100% with kreider. Great speech.
