New online store feedback

Post by finarvyn »

Maybe it's my crummy computer, but ever since the Trolls moved to their new version of the online store my computer locks up every time I try to go there.

Makes it hard to place an order if I can't poke around. :(

Anyone else having similar issues?

Apparently I'm the only one with the issue.

The other day I was admiring the C&C dice that a friend has. Just today I got an e-mail that there were only 12 copies of the Tainted Lands boxed set left, and I was thinking about buying another one.

I'm not sure if I can even give the Trolls my money. :(

Yeah, I just placed an order for the special on the flip book and $10 Classic Monsters and M&T (didn't order the M&T) today and had no problem. Its not so much as you being the only one, this is the first order I have placed since the new site was up. So didn't know how it worked until today.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

also, are you on G+? You can tag Tim Burns on there, and since he seems to be the one directly involved with the new website, can get you straightened out ASAP. Just in case, I'll tag him and give him a link to this thread...

That would be great. I can't even get near a point where I can start to check out ... when I try to get to the store my entire system locks up and screen goes white. I don't know if they made it too graphics-intensive or something like that, but I'd like to think that folks with older computers can buy from the Trolls as well as the young pups with their fancy tech. :-D

@finarvyn -- Please email me at tim@trolllord.com and let me know more about the specifics behind your problem getting on. I'll see if I can help figure it out. If not, we can still work something out. I've not seen any major issues getting to the store, except through a few links through our emails. try this: http://www.trolllord.com/tlgstore and if that doesn't work, let me know and we can get you set up. Sorry for the problems! Tim

I'll post it here and e-mail it.

My sequence is something like this:
1) I click on a link.
2) Screen goes black. I see three boxes with "TLG Store" and pretty pictures.
3) My "loading" bar shows that I load around 10-15% of the page. AOL tells me something about 5 items loaded (or 5 left to load? I forget now)
4) AOL says "not responding"
5) I wait for several minutes. Nothing changes.
6) CONTROL-ALT-DELETE to go to my taskbar and shut down AOL.

So it must somehow by a TLG / AOL thing.

AOL's browser hasn't had a release in 7 years; surely it can't handle the TLG store which is all AJAXy. Certainly you can run a newer browser?

Yeah, I'm surprised a browser 7 years out of date can successfully interact with any website that uses all the new stuff for video, audio, etc...
