The Trolls are doing a second edit of the Codex...

Post by Treebore »

Nordica due to delays with the printer in Missouri needing to get year books done for schools. So since it won't get printed until June, they are doing another editing pass. Considering how many errors we have caught in the soft cover print run, that makes me feel much better about the HC print run.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Id definitely prefer to have a cleanly edited book in June than one with all the problems the soft cover print version has.

The Trolls should start another errata thread. STAT.

I can only assume this means (only Troll knows for sure) a delay for Players Handbook 6, and undoubtedly M&T and CKG. Nordica was going to be a very quick turnaround for TLG as Kickstarters go. Not their fault, however.

Well, the KS for those haven't started yet, but any day now, from what I am understanding.

That's what I heard too. I'm not sure what date the new phb's might have been available, except that (knock on wood) they won't be in time for the June con season. Also, I assumed that Walsworth would (actually has) print HH hardcovers, then Nordica, and probably (guessing) phb, m&t, and ckg. Maybe Codex of Aihrde in the mix. I'm not up on how many TLG projects Walsworth can print at once, or if it's one title, then another, etc. Whatever happens, I guess it gives more time to proofread these upcoming releases.

I wonder if we, the forum members, should start one ourselves so interested parties can contribute. ;)

That would be faster than Troll time.

So who will steal Steve's rules for M&T and preface the new thread for the Norse book (even I found all sorts of errors)?...

Aside: like a thread on Gaelic words, the Norse special spelling and odd pronunciations is cool for about three sentences Por.. really? Thor or even Tor right up front sure would have been nice... so hints up front or even a suggested book or website to pronounce would be nice add too.
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

The misspelling on Thor is not in fact but the correct phoneme in Norse for the 'th' sound is what I use in the book. For some reason the font used in the layout process made it appear as a 'P' when it wasn't. Gaelic wasn't used by the way, that is a Celtic language (of which I am fluent) and to find that refer to my Codex Celtarum!

I thought that was 'thorn' or 'eth' (I can't recall) which makes the "TH" sound.
isn't the d wiht a line thru the ascender a "th" sound also? it looks like it's just subbing for 'd' in the text, which is a visual treat but it confused me for a while until I saw "midgard" and I knew that wasn't "mithgarth"...

how do we handle the 'r' at the end of words? is that pronounced "Vi kingrr" vs. "Vi king")? or just very soft like the 'e' at the end of the italian word gratze? (nearly silent, like you may not notice if it's your second language)?

Þanks! :D
