Current Music in Your Player?
Current Music in Your Player?
Whether you're awesome and use 8-track, album, cassette, CD, or MP3 (or some other form)... what is the current music in your designated player? Does not have to be game-related but if it is, drop a why if you can.
For me, I just finished Rammstein's Benzin and am about to listen to KMFDM's Anarchy.

Currently, Dan the Bard's Manticores and Owlbears CD. It was a gaming weekend, so listening to various fantasy-gaming inspired songs provides good backing track to the drive into town.

Linkin Parks "Road to Revolution".
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I have a tendency to overdose a particular kind of music for about 6 months at a time. Right now I'm overdosing on country rock/blues: ZZ top, Skynnyrd, Gov't Mule (and the amazing "Sons of Anarchy" theme).
When I play RPG's I use the "Game of Thrones" soundtrack and stay clear of the most reconizable themes.

Classic Railroad Songs from the Smithsonian Folkways Classic Series. Love those ballads about brave engineers and their trains smashed to bits as they try to meet their schedule. Like "Wreck of the Old 97" and "The wreck of the the number Nine" Sung by classic singers like Leadbelly, Woody Guthrie, Mike and Pete Seeger, and Elizabeth Cotten.
Plus my three year son is a train fanatic and when ever we're in the car he insists on the "Train songs, Poppa!"

REM at first (Life's Rich Pageant), and then I heard Dream On by Aerosmith at the store we were in, and it got stuck in my head so I had to listen to some Aerosmith.

Playing Spotify personal "Summer" playlist.
Why? Because it's summer here. I hope that helped. Here's a Facebook status I made the other day that accounts for 99% of the music in the playlist I think (the other 1% not being available on Spotify, but is on my iPod, computer, and in my CD collection):

Some dork on Facebook wrote:Summer music (warning: looooong post). I have found with each season there is certain music that fits with the weather and "feel" of the present climate. In My car... Rush - Permanent Waves
At home... The Sword - Age of Winters, REM - Reckoning, Neil Young - After the Gold Rush, Grateful Dead - American Beauty, Dream Theater - Newest Self-Titled Album.
I'm an "album" guy... I don't like listening to singles... but prefer to listen to entire albums in their original song order.

In my earbuds as I cycle to work, mow the lawn etc. I've got a jumble of Irish Folk songs, ZZTop, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, George Thorogood, The Hackensaw Boys (NewGrass), 80's Pop, Django Reinhart (Gypsy Jazz), Iron Maiden, Tom Waits, the Chieftains, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Flatt & Scruggs, Judas Priest, etc. etc.
If you want a dose of all the above plus more, and done with tongue firmly in cheek, check out PlanetPootwaddle.com.
It's like they raided my record collection, tossed it down the stairs and played one song from each album.

I have a random collection of Halloween noises at the moment. I was looking for something to get me going as I try to develop a new platformer using Visual C#... a language I know only vaguely.
Re: Current Music in Your Player?
Which media player? I have four of them, all for different purposes. There's no possible way I could list all the music without listing my entire collection.

Any of them or partials of any of them in any combination. The idea is basic.Traveller wrote:Which media player? I have four of them, all for different purposes. There's no possible way I could list all the music without listing my entire collection.

A miniscule portion of just my rock music I'm listening to: Pagan's Mind, Pink Floyd, Queen, Slough Feg, and Symphony X.
Re: Current Music in Your Player?
Been doing a lot of The Offspring lately (it gets me through work) and run a random rotation of Rock, Punk, 90's Alternative and Classical/Orchestral Soundtrack/Ambient on my mp3 player, sometimes skipping around if a particular mood strikes.
If I'm writing or arting, a lot of times I'll just do a random cycle of Hans Zimmer soundtracks.
