Well, my online account says my order is still being processed. And yet my books arrived a couple days ago. Yay!

I've spotted a couple errors (i think) in Nordica, and a bit annoyed that there are references to both Celtarum and Germanum which i don't own and is not yet available respectively. I'd prefer a self-sufficient book. But otherwise, it's been a good read so far.

The Codex Celtarum has been available for over a year now and the Codex Germania is coming out this Fall I believe, so I made those references with purpose. Each of these codices can stand alone for sure but they also work together as the cultures and civilizations once did in Antiquity. Realistically, to not make reference to that fact would be an utter failure of academic facts and data.

As the other European codices come out you will see this, or take a comprehensive Early European Civilization course or two at a university. The Celts, Nordic-Germans, Slavs, and the Classical Mediterranean world were in tight contact from the earliest times of prehistory.

I am aware of the history. In fact, i have studied such topics. At no point did i say or suggest that the Norse or any other culture were somehow isolated or developed independently. But that's not what i meant.

Perhaps i didn't state my meaning very well. It's not making references to other books that i have a problem with. In the context that you say above, making references to the other books is perfectly fine and sensical.

No, what i'm referring to are what seem to be actual missing pieces of rules- bits that imply that for me to have a complete set of "Viking" rules, i need to have all the other books too. That's the part that irks me.

For example, you spend a lot of time describing runes- that's great! But you say that an actual class for dealing with them will be included in Germanum (the Erilaz class). That makes this book feel incomplete- it suggests to me that for me to have a truly complete "Viking" book i need to buy another book. If it's important to a Norse setting, should it not be in Nordica?

I hope that clarifies what i meant. That there seems to be content this book needs, which actually appears in another book. That's what i meant by "self-sufficiency".


On a slightly different subject: for Germanum, any reason you've decided to use the term "erilaz" as opposed to the term "vitki"?

And since i have you: The Berserker class lists Charisma as the Prime attribute in its title: "Berserker (Cha)", but the rules for Odin's Fury suggests (and the class summary outright says) that the Prime attribute is Strength. Is it just a typo in the class title?
