You're the man, Clovis. At least that's what Todd says.

Cool! Who is who? (Obviously I recognize Steve at second from right.)

Clovis (Snoring Rock) is in the center. The other guy standing next to Clovis is Todd Gray(also with TLG-all around great guy, contributor, office manager, co-author of Heart of Glass, and a partner of Chenault and Gray-publisher of C&C, among other things). The other guys were friends of Clovis, I believe. I did meet them at the booth.

Nice picture! I couldn't agree more with the sentiment too. Four-ish days immersed in rpg culture was wonderful. Also a pleasure getting to meet (and game with the latter two) Tim Burns, Todd Gray, and the Snoring Rock himself. However, even one day after Gen Con and I'm still feeling tired. I need a vacation after my vacation.

Re: GenCon 2014
Here's some of Ben, Clovis, Neil "The Shoveler", Ash, DP, and Elliot in Clovis's EPIC WILDERLANDS REDRAGON SLAY-FEST 2014 game. That's right, our party slew 2 mature red dragons, and one ancient wyrm in one session! The epitome of epic C&C play (party members ranged from 15-24th level). It was so awesome it blew me completely out of the pictures.

First up, some dead gigantic spiders...

Then, finally, the BIG red. ANCALAGON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And this one I am most proud of. My buddy Neil "The Shoveler" who played in SnoringRock's game signed Snore's book. Neil was an early playtester for the C&C game and this is his first signature of a product. He was stoked. I was stoked. Snore, you rock dude!

Nice pictures...except for a map full of creepy spider thingies.
Re: GenCon 2014
Clovis, I'm going to have to get into one of these games.
Re: GenCon 2014
Had a blast, like usual! I enjoyed a great game of C&C on day 1 with Todd as CK (and found out, yeesh, don't let my wife do the interrogating of the wounded guards!) and that made my con... I hardly ever get to just PLAY C&C, so this was a huge win for me. Played and bought Kobolds Ate My Baby, and got to get wiped out with everyone else in our 1E game of Queen of the Demonweb Pits. One of the best years as far as playing that I've been lucky enough to take part in!
I hit the TLG booth every day I made it to the Exhibit Hall, and spent wayyyy too much on money on wayyyy too much goodness, and even managed to help fund the Kickstarter for the Storyteller's Thesaurus in my off time. I was a little saddened that running around and hitting my daughter's babysitter on time meant I didn't get to join any after 1 pm games, or meet up with the epicness that is Omote, but those were the only detractions from a great overall Gen Con. I'll be back next year, and with luck I'll be both running and playing a couple games of my favorite games, including C&C!

Re: GenCon 2014
Todd Gray definitely runs a good game. My first game with him was probably in 2005. I still remember buying the 1st printing phb, m&t, and Crusader 2 from him and Stephen. Anyway, you should definitely run some C&C games for us (GenCon, other events, or even at the local game store). If and when you do, please contact me at sword@castlesandcrusades.com We're working to get C&C demos across the country. Even hooked up some guys from the U.K. (at North Texas rpg) who are running C&C at a con overseas.

Re: GenCon 2014
It really was a fun time, and great to meet everyone.
It did kinda weird me out when my brother and I started rolling the same initiative number, time after time. Psychic twin probability fields activated, I guess...
I hadn't gotten to play C&C in a while, and doing so with such a large group and good company totally brought back all the reasons I love the game.
Also, we played Tunnels and Trolls with Ken St. Andre. We died horribly. Then Ken St. Andre challenged Litzen and me to a planking contest.

I am sorry I missed the planking. I bet you and Litzen are good at that...like +10 on the siege engine check.

Aw man! Next year Argo!
I actually missed out on meeting a ton of Crusader's this year. My schedule was so packed, that I didn't even spend any significant time at the Troll Lord booth until Sunday.

Re: GenCon 2014
Hehe, we did alright, though Ken St. Andre described having been pretty successful at winning planking contests at other conventions. I feel like there's grounds for a new RPG system in which all challenges are resolved by planking, with additional difficulties being indicated by stacking textbooks on the backs of the players.Snoring Rock wrote:I am sorry I missed the planking. As our first Gen Con, I think we similarly packed our schedule and didn't get much downtime to socialize outside of events. One quick stop to the Troll Lord booth at the start and that was it.Omote wrote: I actually missed out on meeting a ton of Crusader's this year. Re: GenCon 2014
Tell me about it, Omote. I arrived 3 hours before close of dealers room on Thursday. I commented to Todd and some of the others that I hadn't seen you. You finally arrived at the booth on Sunday.

Re: GenCon 2014
Thanks for sharing pictures everyone.
I definitely plan on doing both Origins & GenCon next year. As long as I can get the vacation time and am able to travel. I probably even run several tables of C&C. Been a long while but I have had over a thousand hours of good fun at game conventions. I am even going to try to swing getting some tournaments listed in the pre-reg books but I will decide more on that near Christmas time. I probably can't power schedule like I used to. I would play or DM AD&D/D&D tournaments 16 hours+ a day at Origins & GenCon back in the day. But I am getting too old to do that in a quality fashion.
