Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I think it is a good question. If one isn't worried much about the 'collectibility' of the box set, how 'bout the contents? Won't the contents of the Adventurer's Back pack, and Gods and Monsters of Aihrde come out later in full (hopefully) hardcover books with much more material?

If you aren't into the dice and money is tight you might want to wait. Especially if you have the previously published adventure. Personally, I like cool dice and I don't have the previously published adventure so I ordered one. It is going to take a long time to sell it out if they printed 1000 of these. I personally bought the white box in April of 2014 so those white boxes lasted a long time. I don't think my white box is numbered but I bet my new black box will be. Either way I am eager to check out the new variant classes. I do hope they solicit feedback (if needed) before going to print on the full-sized Adventurer's Backpack. It sounds like the first two booklets are just previews of two products to come but I could be wrong.

Warunsun, what makes you think it will take a long time to sell 1,000 copies? This is Troll Lord Games we're talking about. ;) Also, who can resist three miniature books, signatures from the industry's top luminaries (including the elusive Mac Golden), and a whole set of polyhedrons + four 6-siders with C&C logos (lovingly hand-packed by the Trolls)? And even if you have the Golden Familiar from the old portrait screen, you simply have to this exclusive tiny version. Right? :)

They added 14 maps to the Golden Familiar, so its not exactly the same as the old version either.

I gave my white box away as a gift, so the black box doesn't really go with anything I have. I'll wait for the full sized Backpack and monster stats. I wonder if the Archer is cool, though, that's my favorite kind of character, but I am never sure what class to use for one.

Because I bought the White Box in April of this year. It is just logical. Didn't they mention they sold well under the 300 limited units even at GenCon with lots of super-gamers bounding about? I am sure it will sell fine but I don't think it is going to be gone in several months.

Thanks for the Golden Familiar update, Tree. It's been awhile since I looked at my copy of GF (with the portrait screen). Yet another reason to pick up this super-awesome box set.

What can I say, I do my research, especially when its a product that repeats much of what I already own, so wanted to see for myself. So between the new classes, the 36 new spells, and all the additional maps and content for Golden Familiar, I placed my order.

And we thank you, Tree.

Warunsun, I was being facetious. ;) I might even still have a few of these white boxes left. Maybe the black box will sell out by 2024. haha

I gotta say that the Golden Familiar is a fun module, Perfect for a single long session. I ran it last year and it was epic. "In our day we had to attack uphill, both ways!"
