Map of Aihrde Dotted Lines

Post by Snoring Rock »

I know this post belongs under the Aihrde category, but that thread sometimes is dusty. This one gets more traffic and maybe someone will have an answer.

Ok so I am getting ready to possibly start a campaign in Aihrde. I was looking at the map and saw a dotted black line that reaches west from the town of Elne, through the Darkenfold forest to north of Ends Meet and then tee’s to the north and south. Am I to assume that this line represents a road? There is another that stretches through the northern mountains called Andrus Road (Old Dwarf Road).

Surely these are not the only roads in Aihrde. These roads that are marked on the map do not cross heavily traveled areas or even connect large cities. The large cities have no such roads marked.
Why are these roads marked and not others? Is there something special about them? Any know the answer?

Those are roads and are marked clearly where others on the map aren't most likely because the Darkenfold is where Steve's games and highest focus is personally in Aihrde, by my best guess - his most personally detailed area maps are his Darkenfold and that road across is a signature part of the C mods, so that's why you see a little more detail there than anywhere else on the Aihrde map.

Plus, iirc, those roads are "true" roads, IE made of stone. Been a long time since I read up on the Darkenfold material, but I do think the roads, unlike everywhere else, practically, are made out of durable materials, where everywhere else, for the most part, is simply dirt, gravel, whatever is "natural" to the area. There are paved roads elsewhere, mostly within the larger cities, but I am pretty sure there were a couple of others. Great, now I am going to have to read through it again to refresh my memory.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
