Where is Blacktooth Ridge in Ahirde

Post by TheMetal1 »

I've been running a game for quite a while and just kind of handwave the back story of Ahirde. I talk of the winter dark and some homebrew stuff. I think it's north of the kingdom of Kayomar. But not sure. If anyone could clue me into the "where" on the World of Aihrde Map, and some additional detail on the location of Botkinburg and Lundheim, that would be greatly appreciated.

No one's asking about it, but as the PCs learn the game mechanics and their character's survive, they're going to want a bit more detail.

Lastly, to the Trolls and those making the new Codex Erde. please include in the forthcoming codex for both players and CKs details on where all the current modules for ahirde are located. A map, or an index/appendix with this would really, really help. Thanks

The Ridge itself, is pretty much the ridge of mountains in the lower right side of the map. The adventures take place along the Western edge. Botkinberg should be on any map you look at.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

If your using the older maps, just find Botkinberg and Ludensheim and orient yourself from there. Its harder to do on the older maps, because they don't show all the physical characteristics of the landscape mentioned in the modules.

If you look at this map, find the small mountain chain on the lower right, on the mainland, and all the modules take place to the West of those mountains. Until the later ones, where you work Northwest into the Marshes.

Here is a snip of the world map with with the Cradle of the World noted:

Here is a closer map showing the eastern edge of the cradle. Note Blacktooth ridge area on this map, north of New Aenochia:

Here is a snip of an up close and personal map of the region... you can see the Blacktooth Ridge, Ludensheim, Malforten, and Botkinburg on this map. This is from A0 and was also put into the Umbrage Saga boxed set:

Please let me know if it is not okay to post these map snippets on the forums - I will remove them if so.

The Trolls post them on their Blog, so within their forums should be OK.

Thanks Tree! I just wanted to be sure, not trying to break any rules or get anyone in trouble.

Well, I am in NO way an "official", just I would be surprised if they have a problem with it on their own forums. Especially since they put the maps out there on their own Blog, which is more likely to be "stolen from" than here.

For example, my above link is to their blog.

Tree and DMSam,

Thank you both very much appreciated - I'm using Fantasy Grounds for my C&C game and have the After Winter's Dark, and that along with A1 has the Botkinburg and surroundings map, along with the huge world map. It was missing that middle map. I've got that map so I'll just add it in as an image for the players to see. Thanks again.
