I love the style of Calidar. I even like the aesthetic choice to present everything in these books just like it looked during the later part of Basic D&D (the layout and style is just like the Rules Cyclopedia). Now, if Bruce Heard and crew could just recreate the glorious Rules Cyclopedia with exchanging the Known World parts with Calidar!

Looking forward to this one too.

Those dungeon maps look great, but I didn't see any descriptive info about them or how they will be included in the kick.

Did I miss something?

Anyway, looks great!

What's under the hood?

Post by Bruce Heard »

In case you wondered, this book does offer *quite a lot of game mechanics* -- what some of you refer as crunch. A massive chapter details *a myriad powers* granted to mortal followers based on their not only on their cult but also their piety, from the casual follower to the firebrand zealot or dedicated priest of the cults. Additional powers can be granted over time based on behavior, along with short term *Divine Favors* for those who distinguish themselves. On the other hand, *Divine Wounds* await those who chose their paths most unwisely. Aside from stories and the description of gods, a host of denizens are also described which are likely to interact with your favorite party of adventurers, from a panoply of *hallowed servants* of the gods to the worst of *demon princes.* More mechanics describe Calidar's *Dread Lands,* the harvesting of seitha, and a system to run the *spirit lords* defending the world's massive wilderness from intruders. Of course, secret societies and a collection of *floor plans* for their lairs also offer as *many opportunities for adventuring* and tangling with the hidden affairs of the gods.

Posted exclusively on EnWorld's front page is a fun story that gives a good indication of this project's nature. Right here

Hi Rhu. The floor plans depict the temples of the major gods, as well as a series of secret society lairs included in the book. They should make the DM's job a little easier setting up adventures or just simple encounters. Does this answer your question?

Thanks you everyone for your comments and interest!

So Admiral is the only level to offer all 3 books in print? Captain just upgrades the main book to hardcover, and the other two are still only PDF?

I'm glad this doesn't wrap up until January. If this wrapped up this month it would be highly unlikely I could back it.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
