Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Re: What setting?
All of these but Ravenloft, on the surface, are pretty similar for day to day interactions. Do you intend to go so deep into the world that it matters a lot? If it's modules, it almost never matters, if it's adventures you are writing, it can matter a lot. Wilderlands is a little more sword and sorcery, but Greyhawk, FR, and Mystara have a broad swath of things they cover, though they are largely feudal, Tolkien-fantastic, and pseudo-medieval.
I don't have a strong knowledge of any of them, which usually I think is a good thing since my character discovers the world as we go. If the setting or plot within the setting requires that I know a lot about it going in, I might not like that as much, too much homework.
I think any of them are cool if you are going deep enough for them to matter, but The World Of Tree would serve just as well.

I think Kalamar would be an interesting place to go a wandering. But really, any of them would be fine. I know more about FR than any of the others, but have enough passing knowledge of all of them to enjoy them.

You guys aren't helping. I am interested in using all of the settings listed, and haven't been able to decide which one I want to go with, so was hoping you guys would actually have preferences with which to sway my decision.

I voted and suggested. If I had to pick one of the ones listed, my first choice would be Forgotten Realms. My second would be Greyhawk.Treebore wrote:You guys aren't helping.
