When are the colour CKG and M&T hardcovers coiming out?
...
For crying out loud. Do your best with the rolls the dice have given you. This is what separates the men from the boys... -Kayolan

According to their Blog the M&T is waiting on a slot at the printers. The CKG is still being laid out.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Treebore has it on the nail.
It looks like we'll send the MT on Friday so they will have it bright an early on Friday, though I'm mulling over sending it to backers again for another look see before we commit. My eyes are about to pop out of my head reading it.
Once its at press, it shouldn't take 3-4 weeks to come back to us.

Would be nice to have it in time for our Gamehole outing, but better to have it right. If you guys end up doing a 2nd pass on M&T, give me a shout. I'll look mine over again. I'm ready to have a crack at that CKG as well. Trollzah!

It is better to take the time to be sure to get it right than to not do so and screw it up.Omote wrote:Please do so. The team is ready and willing to go!Troll Lord wrote: ...though I'm mulling over sending it to backers again for another look see before we commit.

Yet no matter what RPG people are always pointing out the errors...from Pathfinder, to DnD, to C&C, to what ever. One thing is consistent is people always find mistakes then make every effort to point them out. :O)
Re: When are the colour CKG and M&T hardcovers coiming out?
Well, given the timetable laid out by Stephen, we should have this in time for Vision and Midsouth Con at least.
Re: When are the colour CKG and M&T hardcovers coiming out?
Yeah, when I see people complain about the TLG products "riddled with errors" I just have to laugh at their dramatic over statements. I've gotten the books missing whole chapters from Paizo, Mongoose, etc... I've seen the massive amounts of errata from WOTC. I am well aware of how good TLG actually is, over all. I am also thrilled that they are finally putting in the effort to get as perfect as possible like they have with the 6th printing, etc...thenorthman wrote:Concur....not that I am an editing genius I know it bothers some...Treebore wrote:It is better to take the time to be sure to get it right than to not do so and screw it up.Omote wrote:Please do so. Re: When are the colour CKG and M&T hardcovers coiming out?
I usually lose myself in the story or rules to really notice. Every once in awhile I actually come across something that make me have to re-read something but thats as far as it goes.
Edit: and that is with anything!
Re: When are the colour CKG and M&T hardcovers coiming out?
On a related note, I recently re-purchased the classic 1e Forgotten Realms "gray boxed" set, which is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of what a boxed set should be--even among non-FR fans. I have been re-reading the books and have come across a TON of errors ranging from akward/poor grammar, spelling errors, layout issues and factual inconsistencies.Treebore wrote: Yeah, when I see people complain about the TLG products "riddled with errors" I just have to laugh at their dramatic over statements. Funny thing is I never noticed those things as a kid when I first bought the boxed set and if I did, it certainly did not change my perception of how awesome that products was.
I think sometimes we need to lighten up a bit about small spelling mistakes etc. In the end, it really doesn't matter that much. These are books allowing us to play as elves and wizards, not the Next Great American Novel.
Re: When are the colour CKG and M&T hardcovers coiming out?
Yeah, errata has always been a big issue. There were lots of errors since the very beginning of D&D, and no one really gave a crap back then either. At least I don't recall anyone I gamed with lamenting the horror of the errata and bad editing, bad layout, bad organization, etc... We just played games and had fun.pawndream wrote:On a related note, I recently re-purchased the classic 1e Forgotten Realms "gray boxed" set, which is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of what a boxed set should be--even among non-FR fans.
