Your favorite products released from the the Trolls?

Post by slimykuotoan »

If you select the Players Handbook, please include the printing. Ie. 4th printing.

Castle Zagyg: Yggsburgh. Even though the project is dead and gone it is a good example of a drop in setting or a place to build from. I still use it to this day.

Pour moi, I'd have to say -purely to date, and out of those items I've read through so far- the 2nd printings o' the PHB and M&T, the CKG, and the adventures Haunted Highlands and Verdant Rage.

I'm also really digging Slag Heap, and that whole Umbrage Saga storyline thus far.

I like a lot but I'll narrow it down.

1. The PHB/M&T Flip book. It's awesome. It's my main reference work. I love love LOVE the cover art. I believe it's the 4th printing of the PHB and the 3rd printing of M&T.

2. The old digest sized PHB and CKG. And M&T of Aihrde. I love those digest books. Tiny print but as a DM that usually travels to games, I can't tell you how much those have lightened my bags.

Also love the Umbrage Saga boxed set and Tainted Lands boxed set.

The 2nd print PHB was the one I used the most until I got a 4th print. So of the PHB, I like the 2nd, 4th, and 6th prints the best.
The M&T 1st print, the 3rd print, and the 4th print. The 4th print is fast becoming my favorite with all of the clarifications.
The Aihrde Folio is always a fun read and The Codex Celtarum is probably one of the finest examples of converting historical Celtic culture into game material.
Adventure-wise, I like the Blacktooth Ridge series, but love the Mortality of Green series.

Adventure: Umbrage Saga.

General Resource: Engineering Dungeons, and not just because I wrote it.

Game Specific: PHB/M&T flip.

Tough call, indeed. Yggsburgh is definitely up there. Such a wonderful city to adventure in.

I'm going to go with the original white box. It was rough and shields gave +11 to AC (heh!), but it's where the game began and what got me into C&C.

This could be tough call. I have bought many modules and hard covers for C&C. If I had to pick one or two I would say any of the recent printings of the Player's Handbook and Monsters & Treasure. These are the two books I use the most and therefore probably my favorites. I have enjoyed a few of the modules but you generally only use them once! :)

PS: Some of the specialty books like Codex Nordica are pretty neat but not everything in them is on the same power level of the PH. I would never allow the new classes in Nordica for PCs for example. I read through them once and they felt too powerful.

On the Nordica classes, I read through them quickly and felt, "Why bother, who would want to play these???" I'll re-read and see how I feel about power.. but I did not think they meshed well with the PH classes... I'll have to revisit, cause I have a largely Norse and Celtic group... got to give it better investigation.. I like the book though, still hoping to use it more.
