When the party's Witch Doctor (Illusionist) was killed by the huecuva's Phantasmal Killer, the player exhausted his hero points to call out to his teammates from the edge of the void and ask for a personal sacrifice from each of them that would allow the Witch Doctor to return from the eternal void and to the brink of death. I adjudicated that his PC was now 'mostly dead'.

Black Friday Purchase Sparks A Great Moment
Thanks to the Black Friday Sale from the Trolls, I was able to pick up a copy of The Book of Familiars during tonight's session. No sooner had I purchased the PDF, then I found a way to introduce it immediately into the campaign. Like, within 5-minutes of downloading the PDF!
When the party next took their rest, the Witch Doctor entered a meditative state and communed with his Elders/Ancestors (because the player and I agreed that his power was rooted in the blood of his ancestors and the pagan rituals handed down through oral traditions, generation after generation). When his communion was complete the Witch Doctor announced to the group that his spiritual Elders had bestowed on each of them, a sacred animal totem to reward them for their deeply personal sacrifices on behalf of their 'son'. Thus, The Book of Familiars was introduced to the players! Some pretty good spontaneous role-playing by both the PCs and CK, if I do say so myself. Thanks TLG for continuing to provide the spark!

Achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is within you. Success is being praised by others. That is nice but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success.

Awesome!
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
