Anyone else here in on that kick starter? I am disappointed and while I am very sympathetic to James' troubles, I am equally concerned about this next postponement, being a sign of what is to come.

Judges Guild City State Kick Starter
Ok, so the City State rework has been postponed until February, March, or even later. James Mishler has some things going on that are stalling the revamp.

Yes, I am in on it. I think James' wife medical issues are a very legitimate reason to be late, and I appreciate their openness about why things are being delayed. At least they aren't running away and hiding. Then again, I just spent over 5 weeks in the hospital myself, so maybe I am just extra sympathetic.Snoring Rock wrote:Ok, so the City State rework has been postponed until February, March, or even later. Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Oh, I get that. I suppose my business sensibilities get the best of me. I am QA at a large manufacturer. If R&D were to have someone become sick or unable for a period of time, someone would pick that up and run with it until they were back in place. That is difficult in this case. Not impossible, but difficult. I guess I wonder now, how some of the masses are taking that news.
I mean, I see Bob II and James at GenCon. We talk, we message, stay in touch. I think Bob III has done a good job with it all. I just wonder if this will hurt future releases and so fourth.

Obviously it will, since it already has. I am sure Bob and James wish they had the depth of being a large company with people they could pass their responsibilities off onto, but unfortunately it is just them.Snoring Rock wrote: I just wonder if this will hurt future releases and so fourth.

As a backer, I am not bothered by it as I don't see KS as a pre-purchase but a patron of the arts type thing. I have a number of KS projects I backed and some of them have had issues delaying things and as long as they're active/updating, I'm forgiving. I set my expectations before I back so I'm not raging fire afterwards...
Heck, I don't even give the Troll Lord's grief over the codex pre-order that's still going on...and I may even back their KS for it if there's a way to account for my pre-order payment...

Oh I ma in no rage over it. I have been in contact with Bob III. I just kind of wonder how folks not so close or in the know feel/react.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply you were...just meant I don't generally so my reaction to it may not be normal.Snoring Rock wrote:Oh I ma in no rage over it. I have been in contact with Bob III. I just kind of wonder how folks not so close or in the know feel/react.

I was not part of the KS, because of this exact reason. I love JM's work, but he is nowhere near reliable on this stuff. I decided to wait until the new product is released for us non-KS folk.Snoring Rock wrote:Ok, so the City State rework has been postponed until February, March, or even later.
